Mavericky Puig

Puig is most predictable player going.

Will follow ball about park passing to first man he sees open even if does nothing to open up game.

Doesnt have vision for final pass, doesnt score goals, doesnt know how to position himself on the pitch.

He is limited as it gets on the ball has no range of passing or awareness of anything more than what is directly on front of him.

The vision and ability to open up game Pedri and Gavi have is on another level to Puig.

This idea they are more 'predictable' is the same nonsense that got folk rating Puig as a player and seeing something that is not there.

Only predictable thing about Puig is that coaches wont rate him.

Olo @ all the beta cognitive dissonance

Vid shows he would've had a lot more assists if MSN or Auba were on the receiving end

Aye... Puig who was 16th in squad for key passes in league that season was unlucky MSN not there.

At B team he was below league average for key passes.

Top stuff.

No range of passing, poor vision of pitch, poor striker of a ball and no idea how to position himself in midfield.

Can show his skills at some no mark club if he has the gumption to try and be a footballer.

At 40 second mark would Pedri, Gavi, or even Busi ever do that one two three four with Messi? Of course not, only Xavi, Iniesta, or Puig would.

I remember this and other such moments. The vets like Messi and Busquets trusted Puig and knew he was on the same wavelength in regards pass & move and had the technical ability to execute it. Whether or not that will be valued in the next gen Barca is the question. It'd be a shame if it weren't.

Incredible statistic there. That's confirmed?

Not even above league average in Segunda B for key passes, wow, lol, and he played AM.

Hardly any goals or assists either.

Also that pre-assist outside of the boot pinpoint weighted carpet pass to Alba for Messi's goal? Fuckin' piece of art.

There's no doubt that Puig is one of the few dependably entertaining players of the past few ploddingly dull mind-numbing Barca seasons- which is why Barca fans tend to love him. Anyone who looks at this video and can't understand his value might as well support grind-it-out teams like Mourinho's and Atletico Madrid.

Xavi is being conservative right now because he needs to guarantee CL for next year. Just get the win, even if it means hurling in crosses to Luuk and playing enforcers like Nico.

Hopefully, Barca will get back to attacking football where they score a lot of goals and DGAF about giving up a few.

Be interesting to see the mental gymnastics of the deluded few left when Xavi tries to punt him in the summer.

Puig is the 'more conservative' player in comparison to Pedri and Gavi by a long way. He doesnt have any real idea how to impact game from midfield bar running about following ball making first pass he sees.

His awareness on pitch outwith that is about worst will ever see. He is clueless.

Taken off at HT three times in four games v lower league fodder in cup as making team worse and no idea how to help break them down yet is made out this is some strength of his.

Comically stupid.

There's a whole video just above of him making reverse passes that completely refutes your statement. You see what you want to see.

He no it doesnt at all. Videos of chosen moments mean nothing.

Puig last season 16th for key passes.
Puig this season 23rd for key passes.

Puig in last 5 seasons for Barca B & First team... 3 goals and 13 assists.

What an impact in the final third!

He is clueless and very limited player that doesnt help open game up. Pedri and Gavi do to far higher level which is why they play and Puig will be punted as soon as Xavi can get rid.

I would prefer to see Puig instead of dead rakitic when the former was still a teenager. But we are past that. We have actually really young and really promising players, younger than him while he doesn't seem to have progressed one bit.
He is entertaining though, as a pet.
