Neymar Jr. - v5

In my eyes those are not critics but simply the mob with their beloved flags painted to a particular color.
They understand and see nothing about the game but just a kind off bullfight or maybe the blood of their hero-gladiators slowly spreading and painting the green grass red...

Well they are not. Trying to be truly objective here, I've seen arguments from BBZ and Bojan against Neymar that I thought were bs, and called them out for it, and so did a few other people like me who can't possibly be viewed as neymar fans.

The opposite has not happened. I won't name the fanboys I have in mind, but there are more than two, and they take every opportunity to criticize Messi or Suarez but have never proactively criticized Neymar. In fact one is convinced that Neymar is better than ever now. They will support any claim that takes away from neymar's responsibility.

Compared to them Bojan and BBZ are parangons of objectivity and I mean it.

I think that you are slightly biased towards technical skills/dribbling.

We all know that Neymar is naturally one of the most technically gifted players in the world.
Also, we all know that he is quite smart in getting into positions etc.

But at the end of the day, he is meh or not using his potential in 100s of other parts of a game.

I mean, even Halilovic is insanely gifted player with better dribbles than 90% of our first team players.
So, what?
It is quite questionable whether he will be able to play in a first team of any midtable La liga team because he is poor to average in 10s of other areas of play.

About Neymar, you are an older user (older in age, with a lot of experience).
For example, you surely remember Brasilian winger Denilson from 15-20 years ago?

In his time, he was one of the most expensive players in the world, but never turned into a player whom he could have been, based on his technical potential.
I am not saying that Denilson is like Neymar. Neymar is way better, but there are some simialarities.
Awesome dribbles, showboating, hogging the ball, 100s of poor decisions (when to shoot, pass or dribble further).
A video:

So, please, could you explain WHY is Neymar better than for example Denilson, who failed miserably even though Betis paid almost a world class fee for him back then?

Or another somewhat similar player (tons of dribbles, meh end product), Robinho:

Denilson and Robinho never reached expectations.
Do you think that Neymar will be different than them? If yes, WHY?

Please, please, don't reply: Neymar already has 1 CL from 2015 and that makes him a better player.
We won CLs with Messi+Pedro winger pair also, so it doesn't say too much about Neymar's actual worth.

Horatio

You're welcome
Those dribbles mean the most aesthetic part of the game and very few are able to do even a single one, whereas Neymar does it dozens of times.
His problem is he can easily get passed one or two defenders but when the third or fourth comes, he often loses the ball - obviously.
If the system were better, there would be no more defenders to challenge him because by constant moves without the ball OTHER players would take away those defenders.
Neymar plays the far most difficult task in the team and if you were objective, all you could do would be lifting your hat in front of what and HOW he does that!

Our analyses are equal to a T. I must be on to something.

Those stats indeed never tell you the whole story, in Neymar's case the AESTHETICS of his game play and the DIFFICULTY of his game play.
If you learn these two words in capital, you have understood this game.
If you do NOT learn these two words in capital, you remain in the mob of fans who don't care how the damn ball got into the net, for them the game has no aesthetic aspect, beauty or any sort of intelligence.

He just plays as expected. Less goals than expected, but Messi and Suarez do well in that aspect and it's partly due to Neymar's efforts.

Couldn't have said it better. Its just that everyone wants something on paper or else all the failed dribbles and passes is all everyone sees. He is one of the most hardworking players in the team, constantly trying to break down defenses and start attacks from all parts of the pitch. His dribbling is amazing and nowadays no one at all seems to praise how many dribbles he does without much effort. Had he earned that deserved penalty today no one would bashed him much. But we dropped points and we bash the fuck out of him.

Don't really care who you love on this forum but there is a sum total of 0 posters including me who think neymar is playing great when he is not. The only ones you will find here defending him are the ones who think he doesnt deserve the blame that much that he gets here. Nothing more at all. Can't see any bias there. If the extreme bashing disapears from this forum, I don't think we all will be defending him much.

Coming to the opposite side please don't even make me laugh by saying they are objective. Of the top of my head someone from the anti neymar side once claimed neymar is the sole reason for the destruction of barcelona  . Remember that game against rayo vallecano where neymar scored that beauty goal last season? The guy you just tagged called that a nothing so special performance and neymar wasn't even in his top 3 for motm. I have so many incidents in mind but like you I also don't want to give out names but even though I from the pro neymar side, believe me when I say that anti neymar side has more bs posts. I have never seen an exagerration from ney defenders here.

And I can't talk about others but you have argued with me before thinking that I was bashing suarez but I wasn't. If you ask me who has been the better buy for barca yet, I will say suarez.

Neymar not only has a CL, but he also was a fundamental part of our campaign. And his exhibitions for Brazil speak for themselves.

Mentioning Denilson (LOL FUCKING LOL) and Robinho to, again, make up a narrative is a whole new level of haterism.

This thread is a toilet, as usual. Sometimes I wish he leaves Barcelona and Pedro comes back so people can start commenting here without any agenda.

Agreed, but no Pedro please, let them have the VMA - Vidal, Munir, Arda trio, they will become world famous in no time...

The real problem here is that people say baseless, biassed and meaningless sentences, based on their current emotions (depending on the today's result) and they name it as: Opinion.

Exactly. Had that rightful penalty been given to neymar or suarez had scored that chance neymar created which was wrongly judged offside, everything would have been different here.

Sorry but that's rubbish. He is infinitely more scrutinized outside Barca faithful.

No way. I follow a shitload of barca communities. Reddit, facebook, instagram you name it. Nowhere is there so much bashing and the level of blame he gets over here. In fact there is none, and rightfully so.

Yep. People comment how a player played in certain game. Duh.
And I havent seen many people with more emotional posts than yours so you might look in a mirror instead of riding your high horse.

the most absurd notion of all is : Neymar slows-kills our attacks .. one would say our team constantly attacks like pep's Barcelona and Neymar seldom interferes and cockblock the team  .. what attacks is he slowing? .. he's the attacks, the soon you Wake up from your oblivion you will realise that.

No way. I talk to many (real) people who follow football regularly and they all say he's overrated and rightfully so.

Dont think so. Maybe you should stay in your comfort zone then if you cant handle criticism to your favorite player.
