Same here. Outside Barcaforum I have not read any comments proposing Neymar to get sold. The usual players that get attacked are Gomes, Paco and Vidal and Arda when he plays middle.
Neymar still gets recognized as one of the best current players way ahead of Ronaldo.

Both is you ask me. He gets 0 hate elsewhere. I have never or hardly read an angry statement saying sell him to PSG like I often keep reading here. Criticism,a bit. But still way less than here.

Its an unpopular opinion but I think a few top members of this forum initiated a kind of a trend here which spread like wildfire.

Yes when he tries to do something every time he gets the ball, he's going to be the only attacking outlet. The problem is he fails most of the time. There are other ways to build an attack than giving it to Neymar and hoping for the best.

Don't know about your friends who supposedly know football so much(because everyone who disagree or have other opinions are noobs right?), but I haven't seen Neymar been scrutinized this much outside of the forum. He obviously gets called out for his bad moments, but at least those people outside this forum praises him for his good contributions too unlike a few here.

And it's not even an issue if it's valid criticism, constructive criticism.

But if you make one-liners or make backhanded comments, then you're adding absolutely nothing to the discussion.

Depends on who you're talking about, here. I've been criticizing him a lot here lately, if you bother to find my posts. But there's also a few that only see the negatives, and scrutinize everything to a comical level. That makes the other side also overreact, and the thread becomes a shit show. If people were only actually criticizing... but I've seen people here say that the problem with this current Barça is Neymar. I've also seen one saying he's better now than he was 2 years ago, which is also delusional. It's like a twilight zone sometimes.

He's been below his best for a good while, and his finishing is atrocious. But he's also tireless all game. The goal today happened because he was pressing the opposition at the 90th minute. It's not black and white, "he sucks, period". That lack of nuance is something I find worrisome if you're looking to have an actual productive discussion.

And now, there's many people saying the same, that the hate he gets here is quite bigger than other places, and I'm still seeing people denying that.

And I havent seen many people with more emotional posts than yours so you might look in a mirror instead of riding your high horse.

My mirror says two things:
- If some of my post were emotional they were not that because of my biassed thoughts on xyz player, but rather because of the extreme ignorance of some folks here understanding this game.
- I'm not even a real Barca fan, I started watching Barca games due to the MSN, and it is entirely possible that when Messi leaves or quits and Neymar will be playing elsewhere, I will not be close to this team anymore. As an ex professional player and coach (also as an old fart) I just love nice, creative, aesthetic, playful and joyful football and that led me to this team.
If this team played the game as successfully as Athletico does - and at the same time as ugly as they do it - I'd definitely wouldn't give a shit for the team... and wouldn't argue here with some interesting characters...

I would say the shit show is ignited by the side that ONLY criticises and that too by a large amount. I haven't seen anyone who defends him say he is best or anything like that. The neymar supporters here just argue for one thing only and that is the criticism even though right for him is way too exagerrated over here and he isn't THAT bad.

Maybe I dished out few times at those people in order for them to see what it's like but only rarely and when I lost my cool.

They are not worth it though. Best just not to allow people starting insults before it escalates.
