I never said that with the addition of Neymar RM won't be stronger. CL favourites? Highly doubt it. It is not the same team and it remains to be seen how the new players are going to gel. Not to mention that the likes of Modric, Marcelo, Bale, Kroos are not the same players and have greatly declined. CRonaldo the scorer of 15 goals/year is also gone. My point is that it is not the same team and I don't see how them being 3 time winners in the last 4 years is relevant here.

Please show me where did I say that we have chances of winning the CL? In fact, in the same post you quoted I argued that adding Neymar doesn't guarantee squat. In another thread I argued that with Valverde at the helm we are doomed either way. Neymar in or out, he's gonna get stomped by Guardiola, Klopp or Pochettino in the later stages all the same.

The Cou and money part is fine but Semedo? he isn't perfect but giving him away to get Neymar our RB situation would be fucked yet again. Relying on Bob and a very green Wague. Because I can't see us having the cash to buy another RB.

Well if that's what it takes to sign Neymar then count me in. Do you really think that it's enough though? I'm afraid that PSG will demand another player instead of Umtiti and more money. Especially since they will do anything in their power to make us pay through the nose. And even then, they might prefer to do business with RM unless we add even more money.

From all most recent reports, they demand Coutinho/Dembele + Semedo + 100m which is way too much and will put us in the impossibility to acquire further talent in the next years like Havertz or whoever else might step up. Not to mention that we will also have to look for another RB so more money to be spent. All the above plus him having big injuries in the last 2 years makes me concerned about getting him. The move is too short termish to make sense at that cost.

Now if they want Coutinho + Umtiti/Rakitic/Roberto/Vidal + 50m then by all means get him. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense imo.

Sure he isn't perfect but there would be no money to replace him and not only that there are no other options out there we could bring at this point in the market. We will rely on Roberto and a raw Wague throughout the season.

under other managers no.. but this is fucking valverde and semedo was a substitute for him ! our hope is to get as.many players above the manager pay grade as possible and let them run the show.. as things stand now. we have a dummy.manager for appearances.. i say give semedo coutinho, play roberto RB as get done with it.

If Griezmann didn't come and we'd have that 120m in the bank I wouldn't fret one bit about getting Neymar but spending another 100m above that is ridiculous. Very top heavy and with limited room to add good players in midfield and defense. I have great trust in Todibo but it's still too early to tell if he's gonna make it. Same with Puig and Wague. Alena is going to be a squad player at best imo. It's adding Neymar at the expense of a CM/CAM, CB and RB which could back fire something fierce if Neymar loses the plot or gets injured like the last 2 years.

I would simply tough it out as it is for one more year, hope that the board realizes that Valverde is useless and don't extend him, we get a competent coach and go from there. Simply thinking about going all out for 1 or 2 years, because we need individuality due to EV's incompetence in creating a decent system, is wrong imo.

Personally I found all these rumors of us allegedly getting ahead in the negotiations baffling. How can we afford his transfer fee unless we are going to sell Semedo or even Dembele to PSG? I don't believe the club wants to sell them. Also, how can we afford to pay Neymar's wages, even if we could sell Coutinho? Coutinho is making only around 12m, no more than 15m (gross) a year while Neymar is making three times of that.

Having an elite attack can make the difference but if your Midfield and Defense quality is nowhere near up to standards you will get what happened under Lucho's final season.

We didn't have a real RB and we had an awful Midfield, which forced Lucho at one point to go with the 3-3-1-3 in order to fix the Midfield and Defensive issues. And we currently do not have a coach who can make changes and build a system to help soften the flaws we have.

Ney is taking a pay cut. But he's still wil get paid twice as much as Coutinho. He's getting paid a little less than what he made in his final season here I believe
