Nah...if he comes I think he will be very humble and willing to play his part. I'm sure there will be instances where he keeps the ball and tries something where as another player would play it to messi...but I just hope it works for the best lol. I think he will do well here. Just not sure how well yet.

Honestly I WANT someone else to hog the ball a bit, I'd WELCOME it. When Villa first came he was working hard, being a team player but also carried over the confidence from his prior success that made him take his own chances as well. I want someone else that isn't afraid to dribble into space when there is an opening or to take a chance taking on his defender when we need a goal. I'd take Messi scoring 55-60 and Villa/Pedro each scoring around 20 over Messi scoring 70 and both scoring jack shit. It drives me crazy when Tello shoots instead of making the obvious pass but thats mostly selfishness/inexperience, but when it's a dump it and hope for the best pass....I rather have someone just shoot it.

Sanchez has no confidence what so ever and has been totally useless. Tello has already been figured out because when it comes to 1 vs 1 he's a one trick pony, luckily he has some other talents as well. Pedro is great when in form, jack of all trades but not great at anything.

I want someone that can take on defenders, someone that when he gets the ball the opposing defense shifts towards him because they actually believe he's a threat. Neymar might be able to do that for us. Not to mention he's a great passer and has good vision too. He might have freedom at Santos but he plays a lot on the left wing as well.

Either way we need a goalscoring winger- Neymar is one of those and there aren't many out there. Aguero could be that for us, but I feel like it'd be like sticking another Villa out wide. There are a few question marks over Neymar's head but lets not pretend like he doesn't know exactly what he's walking into. He know's he wont be number one at Barca, it's kind of impossible for him to think otherwise. He knows how we play and that he'll have to work hard to play here.

Ibra had an ego far worse than Neymar and honestly, he was a saint both on and off the pitch compared to when at his other clubs. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Well said. Neymar will add something no doubt and Dani will shore up his attitude and play house with Jr.

NeyGOAT is not the solution to all the problems. In fact no attacker can solve the basic problems we face in difficult games. But nonetheless he is the best upcoming talent and we should get him to improve our offense . He is doing better than Alexis atm and can play on the wing or centre so that gives us options .
Still the most important addition should be a worldclass Centre-back and hope it happens first .

At first I was thinking that we should get a winger who can score and play as striker, like Neymar. Now though, I'm starting to think we should get someone like Villa, a striker who can play out wide. Especially if Villa's leaving.

Neymar could work out though. He's a big risk, but he can pay off big time.
Tbh, if we get Neymar, I think we should go with Villa-Messi-Neymar up front, or something along those lines. Though we'll have to play one of them on the right, where they might not be that comfortable, that front line could be awesome.

Only thing is I don't think that would work because it'd mean virtually no defensive workrate in our attacking line up

His success in barca will be determined by his link-ups with the other team mates, Specially with messi, Which Will depend on his intelligence, Vision and passing, Which he has plenty of, Dribbling is a secondary talent as far as i can see and it won't be the thing that govern his importance for us.

Most people thought Ibra would work. Then swore in Alexis too.

Maybe this whole doubt over Neymar is actually a good sign :)

I think we might end buying the chap, i was really hoping Rosell and Co would at some point realize he's not the real deal, but they are more concerned about the commercial side of it more than his importance to the team. I honestly think he's over-rated, i know this term is coined more often in this page, but that genuinely suits him. I can't remember the last time he performed against a solid defensive side, Everytime he's get's the opportunity he fails to shine. He simply crumbles to the pressure, the Barca game, Olympic finals, And the England game. They were all supposedly career defining moments for him and he failed miserably in all of those games.

If he did make his move here, He's going to be under so much pressure from the word go. The very press that put him up in a pedestal will make a laughing stock of him if he fails to adapt. He knows the entire world would be waiting to pounce on any bad performance. And honestly he's shown that he's not the sort of lad who could cope with that much pressure. Look at Sanchez, had a good 1sr season, but couple of bad games and the pressure got to him, from which he may never recover. It's mostly because of his price tag, it'd be ten times that for Neymar, not just the money involved but also the monumental Hype and skyhigh expectations. The pressure is going to kill his career.
Would be terribly frustrated if we did sign him.

If we do get him, I doubt he'll flop as hard as Alexis. If he does flop, I can see it being like Ibra: good player, but just doesn't really fit the team. Not saying he will flop, but if he does, it'll be more like Ibra than Alexis IMO.

some one is gonna have to explain what this kid brings to the table, people seem to mention he's dribbling and he can damn well forget about that in europe. and from what i seen he's finishing is meh, isn't light years BEHIND villa (who is younger, 21 brazilian years is like 34 normal yrs) and he doesn't come close to tello either. he's passing is nothing special at all, and decision making is even worse. he plays with no real desire and heart just seems to give up if the team isn't doing well.

this will properly go in troll thread... but there's about 20 wingers in the english championship like that.
