Neymar - v2

If Villa leaves, I'd get a striker who can play out wide (like him) to replace him. A Suarez or an Aguero, not a Cavani or a Falcao.
If he gets more playing time though, especially in the CL games, I think there's a very good chance that he will stay.

so the un-proven 50kg, 21 yr old futsal player is the answer?

Unproven?

Twice South American player of Year, voted in top ten players in world and taking Santos to first Copa Libertadores since the days of Pele.

He has proved more than any other player in the world the same age as him.

of course, he does stepovers so he must be the answer.

:rofl1:

Gotze, Wilshere, El Sharaawy, L Moura, Oscar, Isco, Verratti etc have all proven more than him. How? Because they've actually shown they can do in Europe

Oscar and Moura went to a top league straight from the Brazilian league and did well. There's a good chance Neymar can do that as well.

Of course, buying Neymar is obviously a risk. However, it's not like there's no chance of him doing well when he goes to Europe.

IMO, if we do get Neymar, it can pay off big time, or he could flop. Either of those things can happen.

If Villa stays though, we won't really need another forward for next season.

What have any of them done to prove they are better than him?

Not even close.

Moura and Oscar were not a patch on him in Brazil.

Of the players named there only Gotze is in the class of Neymar.

As I have previously stated I do like very much technique-oriented players like Neymar, but in this case there is a fundamental problem. We finally have a healthy Villa, Pedro, Tello, Alexis, Cuenca, Afellay, Bojan, a promising youngster in Deulofeu and then we also have Iniesta, who is bound to play as a LW when Cesc is on the top of his game. These are 9 players players for two positions. Obviously some of the on loan players will leave, possibly Alexis too. The beauty of having role players like Tello is that they will give everything, everytime coach asks them to play without whining or expect to be in the starting line-up every game. Neymar's transfer sum will put him high in the pecking order and will send a very discouraging message to the young players of our team.

How does it send a discouraging message anymore than signing Villa or Sanchez? One of whom will leave if Neymar comes in.

Young players are not entitled to a game just because they have come through the youth system. They need to know that they have to constantly improve to nail down theor place.

First it was Neymar. He lead Santos to the Club World Cup final. But only one player could top his outstanding achievement. The one and only: Paolo Guerreroooooo!

Gotze is above Neymar, actually.
