What's being reported on the br press now is that Neymar Sr(the father) doesn't want the transfer now, because he'll have 100% of Neymar rights in 8 months. And also because he thinks Neymar will be worth even more after the confeds cup. Santos' board is putting pressure as they want to sell him now, or they won't see a dime. This won't be over any time soon.

yes read that on barcastuff but I doubt it as Barcelona already locked the deal last year.

If the 40m clause is true - I hope Real would buy him and we can get Falcao/Cavanni/Lewandowski with that money. Then the remaining transfer budget plus the amount we get selling Valdes,Villa et al can be utilised to get two great CBs (Hummels+Vertognen :party1:) and a great GK.

I think for both the parties, its beyond any backing now. His addition to the squad looks imminent. Let's just hope that it benefits both football wise and money wise.

If true very greedy from the father. Glad Santos saw the chance and went with it.

This guy sounds like a damn distraction already . Without an iron fist like Pep running the club this has trouble written all over it.
With all this constant speculation it's gotta be a lot of pressure on Neymar. A lot to deal with for a 20 y/o if he doesn't have a disciplinarian around. As a fan with all this constant BS news of him coming and dazzling the world there's expectation of INSTANT SUCCESS.

WTF:banghead:

The people who compare Neymar to Robinho and others have no clue whatsoever. Neymar has the potential to be our next Ronaldinho only better. Could you imagine Ronaldinho at his peak what solution could he offer when we struggle against defensive teams?

It was answered 1000s of times on the previous 500 pages

Neyclown looks much more like Robinho in terms of footballing skills than he looks like Ronaldinho
Further, his mental skills doesn't look like Ronaldinho's mental skills. Neymar just doesn't look like he is as intelligent/a strong personality/whatever as Ronaldinho.

He looks more like Inter's Adriano, with whom you never knew if the guy today wants to play a football match or he wants to film a gangster rap videoclip today

Further, currently nothing indicates that he would help us against strong european teams like Bayern.
Yes, against Mallorca he will dribble like crazy.
Against Bayern, he will be surrounded by 4 european defenders and he will just lose the ball.

About Marty McFly, Neymar will not be a total failure, but it is likely that he will be something like Robinho or Alexis.
Chances are not too high that he will be the guy who is worth 57 Millions and who will bring back that XX factor, which we lack currently, to bring us back on the top of Champions league

If you will reply now: But you can never now will he be good or not, then:
1. a history can teach you how many similar players like him were a success and how many were a flop
2. further, even if you want to gamble, then 20 or 25 Millions would be a fair price to gamble with an unproven player like him
-- 57M for a guy like him is a joke and reminds me of a Gaspart's era
