Nico Williams

Never rate a player based on shining in international tournament mate, this should be a basic knowledge.

Yeah, by all means. That is why I want him too. a trio of Raphinha, Lamine and Nico rotating for two positions is a great scenario.

that was just a continuation of a clear turn in form from him being a young okay winger, to something else.

Has a big impact against us, Madrid and I think in the Copa final.

Finish the season with 8 goals and 16 assist, at 21, and brought that into the euros in the strongest side of the draw.

If he comes in, his confidence will be 2x more than raphinha.

It’s naive to suggest the push for NIco is simply the Euros, prior to his renewal there was talk last season of acquiring him. Plus, it was clear as day the first time they played during qualifications that there is chemistry between the two and at the end of some of those matches the synergy was electric

It was clear a MSN vibe was percolating and why no question he had to be bought to pair & build around with Lamine - huge, huge potential

Why are people again thinking like before when we had a lot of money? We don't.
This year was supposed to be rebuilt for cheap and wait for the new stadium to open so we can buy heavy next year.
Get a CDM and a RB and we're good to go this year. No need for anything else. Frimpong looks to be around 50mil, don't you think that's a bit expensive?
If it's now or never for Nico, don't you think there are clubs from EPL looking into him, and he can get higher wages there? He knows that, and if he still chooses Barca it means he can wait one more year and come next year.
Frimpong was rumored to have a clause around 30mil, unsure if it's true or still available. If he'd cost much more than that then he'd no longer be an option. Either way, RB is only something to go after once a LW and competent DM are secured.

A lot of good documentaries on youtube on the Williams' story at Athletic - recommended to take a dive into a few, lot of impressive things to take from them tbh. Netflix also has a decent series on La Liga that has a bit on them & Bilbao

That being said, I suspect Nico's future will be on a bigger stage but it will not be 'easy' to leave the Basque country for him

Apparently, we have the 58 million € ready to be paid and are currently waiting if Nico and his agents accept the proposed contract. Either they accept or we re-enter negotiations.

Per Fabrizio Romano:

We are entering 2nd round of contract negotiations this week and are hoping to reach a contract agreement this week.

JUST IN: Barcelona has informed Nico’s camp that they will be able to activate his release clause.
@alexpintanel

If true, it all depends only on Nico's answer.

Don't think we can register him without the Nike and Barca Studios deal so it's not so close. Also many cules take it for granted that Nico wants to come but we simply don't know what he wants. We all know what Athletic means to homegrown players and he just extended his contract with them. Being friends with our players doesn't mean he wants to change clubs.
