Nico doesnt owe anyone any statements at all on either side. The Bilbao fans believed he would stay anyway.

The only thing that was ever really reported was that Barca reached personal terms with his agent and would be put to him as an option.

Them winning the cup and qualifying for Europe probably worked against Barca in end but will try again if he doesnt put a big clause on a renewal.

In the end Olmo is not the player we want, but he should be a good solution for the left so long as Flick gets positive width out of Balde (or Valle).

Then get Nico in a year and shift Olmo centrally.

Alas, would have gone for Galeno for 35-40m since he can play both sides but better on the left. Shame Roque crocked the Brazil market for us as there is probably another one of him waiting over there to be developed a bit in the 15-20m range.
