Oliver Torres

I don't like that he is constantly played out of position. You only see his full potential when he plays centrally.

I agree fully. On the flank he can still use his technique, but it's clear as day how uncomfortable he looks overall there. He's not the type to make bombing runs forward or just go dribble at goal. It's very limiting that he's shunted away from the meat of buildup play and that he has the touchline at his back to restrict his options. When he's played centrally, he's much better at cycling the ball around and controlling things.

Lopetegui is known to develop youngsters, and he's already managed Oli at the youth level. I expect him to do well under him.

Julen Lopetegui is the new Porto manager and he was previously the coach for Spanish u19, u20, and u21 teams in which Oliver starred. Would've liked him in La Liga but this looks like a good move.

AFAIK Porto aren't at all stacked in central midfield so Oliver can get a good amount of game time considering he has favor of the coach. We'll see how it plays out.

We won't get him now since he's loaned out and we are facing the transfer ban next window. He's not joining us.

Depends on how he develops and where he is by 2016.

Damn I wanted him to join some la liga team or stay at atletico and fight for minutes. If transfer ban does not hit us we should buy either Torres or gundogan. Our depth in midfield is too short. The quality on the bench is too low and even our starters are not what once they were. If busi does not gain some form we are truly fucked.

So how is our future midfielder after the transfer ban doing in Porto :eusa_think:

Apparently Simeone doesn't rate him so it shouldn't be a monumental task to get him if Cholo is still at Atleti and with a new board for us, if he keep doing well until then ofc.

Yh wrote something about him not being brazillian and not being injury prone , so there was no chance we would buy him. :zubi:

With a new board there is :laporta:

Although we also signed some Brazilian duds, shady deals under Laporta's regime.

With this being Xavi's (possible) last season with Barcelona I was hoping we'd get Torres so he could learn and progress his game. Really sucks that our stupid board overlooked him.
