Him leaving for free would be an appropriate end to this disaster of a transfer. Ideally, of course we would like him to renew and then us being able to sell him for money, but of course, that is never going to happen. His pace is unique to this team with slow players all around and he does sometimes look like the only source of any threat. The best alternative would be us extending him for LOWER pay, not a higher pay, with the hope that he can help us by being on the pitch. Now that also isn't going to happen.

So the two options we are left with are extending his contract by giving him a pay INCREASE or letting him go for free. With his injury track record and basically 0 contributions thus far to the club, letting him go for free is the only real viable option.

100% spot on , its a sore one to take but the club cannot offer this donkey any more money and will have to take the hit.
He was one of the three worst signings in the clubs history and mistakes that involve ridiculously long contacts on crazy money in wages cannot happen again.

Sooo, would you guys extend his contract just to be able to make signings this January (with 20m amortization magic)? Potentially even bettering the 4:1 rule with a better revenue-salary ratio (pretty sure we were close to the boundary of shifting towards a 2:1 rule - <70%?).

only 1 assist against Elche, but could have had at least another 3 if Jutgla and Frenkie finished off their huge chances:

(That pass to Jutgla from the half-way line is too good...
Messi-level weight on the ball and timing)

xA 0.8 (for those in the know, this means 3-4 assists if finishers score), 5 (!) shot-creating actions.
Only Messi has been recording those numbers in the recent years, when having the ball 90% of the time

It only means one thing:

As soon as there is movement arround him, he become almost lethal (say almost because he's still too accurate sometimes) but his vision is quite underrated i think
If we only speak about assist, he created at least two good chances per matches generally. The main issue for me is that i though he would score far more when physically fit (which he is for now)
