Evergrande Group chairman Xu Jiayin says they won't let Paulinho leave the club this summer.

Xu Jiayin. Remember the name, he's done more for Barca in one day than Farto ever has or ever will do.

Would... would you be happy or satisfied if you realized you guys were after him, even?

Hell no!!! He's garbage - we have 5 superior midfielders to him already in our squad and we're talking about the 4th best team in England here not the 3rd or 4th best team in Europe!!!!

Seriously he is garbage and the reason why Brazil were so shit in 2014 was because they depended on the likes of him and less so now and it's a disgrace comparing him to Keita!!

If you need to buy a squad player for your central midfield then better alternatives in la masia surely or even in the lower end teams of la liga. Can't really comprehend Paulinho even being of interest to your management/coaching staff.

Or if they want a Brazilian B2B player they you know could go for Fabinho who can also play as a RB and he's younger.

Lol, what is he supposed to say? "Don't come here dude, you're trash, plus Barcelona is really a bad city, it rains all the time, no culture, i don't even know why I'm playing here, Messi is a shit player..." . Of course he's gonna welcome him here, its his teamate from Brazil. Imagine you're smart and go to Harvard, and one of your friends got accepted for a transfer even though he's very dumb, aren't you going to welcome him?

Paulinho has not play well for Brazil in any time. It only has one good feature, which is infiltration into the opponent's area. Nothing else. A player totally dependent on a single move.
In Brazil he seems to play well because Tite's 4-1-4-1 gives him that. But it does not contribute to possession of the ball, nor to the defense-attack connection. Who plays the role is Casemiro / Renato Augusto, this second act more retreated to start the plays and give more quality in the exit of the ball.
Paulinho does not defencive well, he does not position himself well and he breaks the rhythm of all the offensive lines of the team. I, as a Brazilian, I'm sure that Brazil can be hexa with him in the team, because Tite is the best Brazilian coach of today, but this guy is less one in the field. 99% of Brazilians who understand football do not want it in the starting lineup.

It is crazy to think that Barcelona think about having him on the team. André Gomes is a timeless genius compared to him.

Unfortunately, Brazil lost Thiago Alcântara to Spain and Barcelona lost him to Bayern. Imagine how crazy a team with Ederson, Dani Alves, Marcelo, Thiago Silva, Miranda, Casemiro, Thiago Alcantara, Renato Augusto, Coutinho, Neymar, Jesus ... my god, what a team!

Your friend going to college with you is not the same as your friend playing sports with you and dragging the team down.

I have lots of friends who enjoy playing football/basketball/etc. but I'd never in a million years consider inviting them to play with my team because I know they're not good enough and I want to win or at least be as competitive as possible when losing.
