This formation is pretty flexible. That's why Carlo tried out Christmas tree probably, because then he has three guys lined up more or less next to each other and Bale/Ronaldo playing a bit deeper and a bit narrower. So to go from this:

-------Khedira----Modrić--------
-------------Isco---------------
----Bale--------------Ronaldo---
-----------Benzema-------------

To this (if Isco is out):

------Khedira--Modrić--Illarramendi------
--------Bale----------Ronaldo----------
-------------Benzema------------------

is not that much of a reach.

And Modrić can play higher up too. He'd be nowhere near as effective as Isco, but he's versatile and gets it done. Just look at the effect he had in the United game at Old Trafford.

You guys don't seem to have enough depth in Isco's position, with both Ozil and Kaka leaving. If everyone stays fit, you should be fine, but one or two injuries and you could be looking at a problem. Also, is Jese good enough to be used in such a big role? I know he's been good for Spain, but how about Madrid?

They seem fine in being able to switch around the midfield to accommodate things for injury. Jese has been great for Spanish youth sides and was one of the top scorers in Segunda last season. That doesn't mean he'd make a leap to world class caliber the moment he gets a chance this season, but he's definitely capable of handling a bigger role and having more responsibility.

They should have been under investigation 10 years ago.

I dont get how Spanish banks aren't under complete control by Brussels anyway.

Goal predictions from Bale and Ronaldo?

I'll go with Bale -23 goals, Ronaldo 43 goals.

League goals: Cristiano: 32, Bale 12

Bale will surely have an easier time than he did at Spurs for scoring, Real Madrid basically camp out on the opponents penalty area the whole game where as Spurs were a much weaker team and he'd have had to defend a lot more.

How come Real does so much better than us financially? Eventhough they have unlimited funding for transfers every year and win nothing?
