If Real Madrid fails on two of their next six games, Ancelotti will be sacked. [Paco Gonzalez on Cadena Cope]
Both goals conceded had nothing to do with their lack of a proper CDM.
The second was a textbook example even.
How so? Wasn't that initiated by a throw-in?
Sure. Here is the scene again from 2:09 onwards:
It begins with Kroos failing to win the ball back vs. Griezmann. Alonso would foul him if nothing else but never let him walk away so easily after sticking the leg out once. At the same time Modric has no awareness whatsoever what's behind him and that Arda is completely unmarked with no one picking him up. Isco is just attacking whoever has the ball, in this case Griezmann after Kroos fails to win the ball back, meanwhile letting Juanfran unmarked.
There really is a difference between Kroos and Isco putting in a shift, which they are doing in fairness, and a dedicated defensive specialist who knows what he's doing with a trained defender's mindset, i. e. fouling if necessary, reading the game properly and so on.
Not really. Any player should be aware of that even forwards and especially a " mindfielder" for gods sake.
Cronaldo's elbow on Miranda:
I honestly don't think it's that bad, but it's still staggering just how many of these (and much, much worse) acts RM can get away with.
They are so stupid.
They finally managed to create a well balanced team, for the first time in 10 Seasons, and then they ruin it in 2 Months.
Maybe they will be smarter in 2024' when they will finally again win something.
Or let's hope they won't.
1 week. It was fucking 1 week that the team went from being the only team capable of winning the CL back to back to not winning anything.
"Fail" means not winning?
And who will replace him?
I don't see it happening.
Only team capable of winning CL back-to-back? I really disagree. Barca 2009 and Bayern 2013 were far more capable, let alone Barca 2011 which is the best team of the past 20 years. Your team was not that great last season. 2 minutes away from losing La Decima, Mkhitaryan fuck-ups from 5 yards from being knocked out in quarters and clearly third best team in the league. The Bayern wins were great tho, came out of nowhere. Your best team was clearly 2011/12 where you shouldn't have given away that shitty penalty to Gomez in the semis.
