Lots of Arsenal fans freaking out because Mertesacker is out, seem to forget that there's 10 other players in superb form on the pitch. Plus Arteta+Flamini in the pivot should provide adequate defensive cover.

United controlling the game so far, creating more chances. Vermaelen and Ozil look rather unspectacular

Vermaelen hasn't been too bad in my opinion, a bit too eager to wave his hands for calls without running back but otherwise fine. We played like this against Dortmund as well, it's our new defensive technique to try and cede possession then lash out when the other team isn't expecting it.
