Don't agree. Basically CB area cost us the match, all goals were blatant fuck-ups by Pique and Garcia almost. Could playing De Jong as a makeshift CB have helped? Possibly. But nobody anticipated Pique was gonna be quite that disastrous.

That was probably the worst match Pique played for us.

Raphi on the left.
De Jong on the bench.
Balde on the bench.
No pace in the whole back 7.

Then.
Leading half-time
No changes to 2nd half shift in momentum to Inter
No subs until Inter go in front (Double sub).

You look at that selection, and with the way we play today, we would go through with what's available.

You look at Balde now and think he should have played then. Hard to play Balde with little to no experience at the time vs Inter at home straight away. Since then he was eased into the team and grew in confidence to where he is now.

Don't agree with the way you're putting it. Of course better decisions could have been taken looking back at what happened in that game, but let's not lose focus of what the main problem in that backline was, which is missing all 3 top defenders we have in the squad.

Defenders missing and how badly Xavi then set up team was the issue.

Awful.

Balde was already playing well before that and had three assist by then and had played LB and RB well.

Ludicrous to leave him and his pace out that backline.

Then add to that Alba at LB to allow Alonso to play CB and FDJ in midfield.

Lot of mistakes from Xavi and defensive set up was awful.

As I said hindsight and all that.

But we mentioned Balde and Xavi clearly had enough sample size. Balde was our starting LB and had started our previous 7 LaLiga games in a row prior to Inter.

Xavi just opted for experience in Europe while ignoring that it left us the slowest ever backline since Nigel Winterburn-Tony Adams-Martin Keown-Steve Stone .

Whole CL affair was one bad luck after another.

Death group straight away with no time for the team to gel under Xavi and so many new players and promoted players, then injuries hitting us at once in the decisive games vs Inter. Not to mention that dumb ref who denied us a clear pen away vs Inter.

Of course we could have done better despite all of those problems, but we didn't, and it happens. It's a process.

Group was not bad luck... Win EL and be in Pot 1.. dont fuck up v Frankfurt.

Inter are not a great side and had injuries.
Bayern were going through their worst form of season at that point also.

Barca would have given themselves a much better chance of beating Inter if Xavi chose a better defensive set up and not Garcia/Pique with lone Busi on front of them.

Absolute amateur hour stuff and didnt change things in that home Inter game when they were countering at will.

Poor line up and slow to react as he was in both Utd games a few weeks ago.

We lost the Inter game because we had pique & Garcia at CB, who were both horrible off form,as is evident by the fact that pique directly cost us 2 goals, they are the facts.

It's also a fact that we are now out of Europe, get over it, constantly relegislating is irreverent.

We are about to win the league!!.

Every Liverpool won 0-7 so we should have beaten man UTD, because that's how sports works, smh.

Madrid beat Liverpool
We beat Madrid
We lost to man U.
Liverpool beat man U.

What does all that mean? Absolutely fucking nothing.

Lost Inter game and Xavi chose a horrible defence with Busi at DM to try and protect it.

Awful.

Leaving FDJ on bench with Alba and Balde..

Type of decisions and mistakes that have resulted in only beating Plzn in last 10 European games.

The ole play FJD & freaking Alba in Europe, because that's worked for us over the years, they'll make the difference.

Not.

Yes play your better players makes a difference.

Playing Busi, Pedri and Gavi etc was worse alternative than no FDJ in the mix.

Your usual shite argument works against all of them anyway not just FDJ.... same argument can be made against Busi, Gavi and Pedri.

Can include Messi as well for that recent years argument at Barca.

Do better.

It's shit* like your breathe and your take that FDJ & freaking Alba would have made a difference in Europe, 4 years of failure says different.

We lost because we had to played Garcia & Pique, nothing would have changed that, certain not FJD & Alba.

A mint can change your breathe though.

We winning the league!!!!!

Jeeepers that best can do?!

Keep at it suits you.

The best team gives you best chance to go through.

Busi had more years of failure... Pedri had three. Gavi two.

Shite point but thats the norm.

A lot changes if have best players playing. Not difficult.

Makes fuck all difference if pedri plays v United eh... three years of failure and all that.

Makes fuck all difference if Dembele plays... 6 years of failure.

Busi missing first leg? Never mind 8 years of failure.

Type of argument that leads folk to think Kessie is arriving as best mid at Barca as he won the league.

Do better.

Sht point and make it too easy.
