The difference is that Barca's staff wouldn't probably do the same simply out of respect and the rivalry. It seems the first of the two mentioned doesn't seem to fit well with RM.

There is nothing wrong with what Valdano said, it is an option and just like Valencia, if Barcelona do not want to sell, we will not approach. A little different to last time around under Perez

Barcelona saw no problem in going after a Madrid player when their youth team needed experience and we sold. No problem there.

Actually I didn't as I only spoke of respect towards the idea of not snatching senior team players. I didn't speak anything about Barca's staffs comments or statements (which are by the way off the line as I've already mentioned)

edit: Maybe it's just me, but I'm sort of old fashioned in terms of rivalries like the one between Barça and Real, which in my opinion should be based on mutual respect. Current situation is far from it and it's plain ridiculous at the moment.
