Man Utd set a stipulation on the deal that Madrid have to pay all 80m in one go, which is what you'd expect them to do since they'll use that cash to fund new players.

 ? source ?

anyhow impressive stats for the young CR

Date of birth: February 5, 1985
Birthplace: Funchal, Madeira, Portugal
Former clubs: Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid (current)
Honours: English Premier League (2007, 2008, 2009), FA Cup (2004), League Cup (2006, 2009), UEFA Champions League (2008), FIFA Club World Cup (2008), PFA Young Player of the Year (2007), PFA Players' Player of the Year (2007, 2008), FWA Footballer of the Year (2007, 2008), European Golden Shoe (2008), Ballon d'Or (2008), FIFA World Player of the Year (2008).

110 games in 2 season in all competition scored 76 goals... quite impressive for a winger

13 Million Euro a year ( i guess it's 50-50 for the image rights then ) and a release clause of 1 Billion Euro

ronaldo's stats since the 2006 world cup are ridiculous. 91 goals in 155 games.

for me there are two cristiano ronaldo's. the world cup incident with rooney and the fallout of that (plus ruud leaving) totally changed him as a player. before he was a showpony winger, after a devastating wing-forward.

at club level he's won everything bar the uefa supercup. which is pretty ridiculous considering he's 24. he's a totally complete player as well. left-foot, right-foot, header.

mad.

If I had 96 million euro I'd buy a space ship and would travel across the universe, would meet Jabba the hut because he's my role model.
I could buy a football club or even better a woman's gym club. I could afford Shakira and spank her ass. I could buy Levski Sofia and build a stadium. I could give a run to my sexyball game project, as many of you already know sexyball is a game that combines football, street fight and lesbian porn.

damn I need 96 million.

yeah.. when u look @ the awards and his stats u feel somehow the amount paid is nearly justified considering his age ... without them u would doubt why would u pay all that for him

well he's not worth €93m but this is like when you buy a sony product.

it's a quality piece of kit, yes, but you know that at least 1/3 of the price is because it's a sony. you're paying for the brand name of sony almost as much as you're paying for the kit.

you're paying €93m not just for a world-class player who's scored all those goals and can bring technical greatness to your team. but you're paying that much for the current ballon d'or and wpoty and one of the most marketable names in football. you're paying for the image.

and just like buying a sony product, you've paid way over the odds.

but just like people who buy sony products, you probably don't care. :D

immaculately conceived
except my playstation doesn't wear hotpants when it's not working and it plays my game exactly the same, regardless if i set it vertical or horizontal

and 1 billion, feck. that means that we are going to look at ronaldo's face for the next six years. ok perez, it's pretty cool that you're pissing of the mancs but don't push your luck

Apparently a study was done on Ronaldo and they valued him at 82m euro, with Messi at 80m. Cules will probably start crying themselves to sleep when they hear that, but I think Ronaldo's value is higher cause of his marketability and the fact that he's already won FIFA WPOTY and the Ballon d'Or while Messi hasn't won it yet, thought they also did reveal that Messi is the most talked about player right now, taking over from Cron, deservedly.

well it's the truth.. i don't think a business man like Perez will throw the money away without knowing it's value = money

it's so good reading the news today and seeing Madrid press calling for Raul as a sub on his Birthday (today ) ... and at the same time favoring Higuain-Negredo as the 2 main strikers next season

Well Xabi Alonso looks to be the next in line

From The Times June 27, 2009

Xabi Alonso appears ready to leave Liverpool

Liverpool placed a £35 million valuation on Xabi Alonso last night after the Spain midfield player said his goodbyes to some members of the club's staff. However, Real Madrid, with whom the player has been linked, have not yet made an official offer.

Alonso's relationship with Rafael Benítez has been troubled since the Liverpool manager began his pursuit of Gareth Barry last year. Although Benítez wants to keep the 27-year-old, there is a growing acceptance at Anfield that the player is likely to move to Real.

Benítez has justified paying up to £18.5 million to Portsmouth for Glen Johnson, who has joined on a four-year contract, because the right back was English. The manager has offered a new contract to Álvaro Arbeloa, who has one year left on his deal, but is also wanted by Real.

“We knew the market was going to be difficult this summer and some of it has been crazy,” Benítez said. “We could buy one more player without selling anyone.”

Great... also Milan are looking to buy Gago as a replacement for Pirlo...
