TBH I reckon they'll forget Ronaldo and go for Ribery. I just don't see how they can get both Ronaldo and Ribery to fit in the same team. If they do play a 4 man midfield then you have Ronaldo who doesn't track back, Ribery who also rarely tracks back, Kaka who also isn't known for it and then you have possibly Lass there to do all the defensive work like Makelele. That simply doesn't work in the game as it is currently, it worked in the early 00's when English teams couldn't defend as well and weren't as tactically astute, but now it doesn't Real would be eaten alive if they got all 3 of those players, especially away from home. One man protecting your back 4 with defensively lazy players around him = suicide in modern football.
There is alot of talk of Real getting Ribery, but if they get him they need to forget Ronaldo IMO and use the money to instead buy Xabi Alonso, someone who isn't scared to put a shift in defensively aswell as offering alot going forward. Ribery you can at least see from his L'OM days that he can put in some hard work closing down, Ronaldo you just can't...but anyway it comes down to either one of Ronaldo or Ribery, not both, and then add Kaka and Xabi Alonso then a CB to replace Cannavaro.
