Let's just call it the way it is. A lot of these PKs RM gets are more or less PKs. True. The problem is they aren't blatant obvious PKs everytime and are called anyways. Then under a microscope the VAR says yes this slightest of fouls is a PK (Kubo) or that yes no problem let a foul that should have been called about 8 times over (Endrick) be called a PK. Or an unintentional handball off a random mishit(Guler)

Barca won't even get a sniff of a PK in the same circumstances. No VAR check. Half the refs would just say play on. It's incredible that nobody picks up on this.

Refs are just sitting there basically working the system. They know if there is any contact for RM to call a PK because VAR will have to make it "clear and obvious" that it was not a PK. In other words if there is any contact they can't go against the call because there was contact. This is also exactly why RM had the most disallowed goals last year and RM fans were complaining they were "getting robbed." Every offside thats close they are making sure to score it. They know half the time they don't even go back to review it correctly. (Bellingham Offside today 1st goal)

Now the video's shot under an angle and I'm not 100% but in the screenshot of their last contact they seem to be inside the box. Crossing the line that is. Trust that VAR checked that.

The foul's definitely been committed earlier and the fucker loses control but the Espanyol player fucked up by holding onto him while he was falling. Since it's explicit in the rules, and the unwarranted advantage's been given... agree it's a pen.

Good post. The Espanyol player should have let him go while he got closer and closer to the box. He continued to hold him and it's a pen.

I'm not really fusser about the PK, it was a stupid foul and didn't need to happen, you were already losing 3-1, just let him be.

The issue which has been highlighted by others over many years, is Madrid simply gets calls, that no other team in la Liga can get.

I saw a clip on IG yesterday, where ramos literally jumps into abidal, who Literally Moved out the way, it's the most obvious flop in history, and the ref called a foul, which led to a goal.

It's been happening for years, this league is a joke, the compete with madrid in la liga requires you to understand, that they will start the league with a +9 advantage at the bare minimum and that's BS.

Jude calling the ref a piece of shit, what does the ref do?, ask him if he would like him to eat it too.

The penalty controversy was irrelevant to the outcome of the game. But it's good occasion for a discussion and feeds Mbappe goals as he's clearly not yet comfortable in this squad.

Open to interpretation, looks to me Espanyol's defender let go of Endrick right before they reached the line, apparently aware of the rules. That's where the foul ends. Endrick took a dive inside, but his boots were still outside.

No. Espanyol held on to him until well across the line. It was clear from closer angles. Don’t think there is any controversy to this instance for me personally.

Why would a corrupt ref want to help out real when they are up 3-1 anyways with only like 3 mins of game time left.

Also it does not matter where Endricks feet were. The foul is where the arms and hands are holding on to his waist.

1) The foul is called at the point where the contact starts. It doesn't matter how long Endrich walked

2) Even when he falls, he falls inside, but his feet is outside the box

3) The ball went out of bounds from Endrick's feet right at the corner flag, before he started his run

I recant the ref should've called the foul at the beginning since he was letting advantage continue. Endrick's upper body was in the box when defender let go and defender's own hands were at least on the line if not over the line. Did you even watch the spectator phone recording posted on previous page clearly showing ball never went out of bounds?

Ham not getting a red is the real scandal here.
