And why would you want him at Barcelona then?

Because of the coach he is, ofc. Tired of Tatas, Rouras, Setiens, Valverdes and Koemans.

Not wanting him particularly but mentioned the likes of him and Tuchel, proven names that nobody at Barca was looking after in the months they were available.

I cannot believe we are not being linked to Brendan 'Tiki Taka' Rodgers.

A top top manager is available and we are not even interested. This club is shambles.

We'll probably keep Conman Koeman or hire his Spanish equivalent in Roberto Martinez.

Hopefully, this club wins no trophies for the next few years. Absolute horrendous management and it deserves what it has coming!

The guy whose team choked away a significant lead in the Premier League in epic fashion?

Rodgers is good, but not great and his teams seem to almost always fall apart when they're seeing the finishing line.

Don't really have anything against Koeman the manager. I'd probably like him if he was a RM figure fighting as hard as he does for his own. He's a bit braindead and feeds into conspiratorial nonsense a lot, but heart's where it ought be with the club. Commendable.

Getting quite difficult to say where the build needs to start with you lot. So much needs a fix, from years back. Manager is the last resort problem to fix at this point and should be changed as 3rd or 4th priority.
My list would be:
a) Messi needs to go, to free the sense of independence in others, but won't because club legend, net benefit ya dee ya.. it's a first step without which nothing happens and the spirit of restlessness persists
b) Quality CB that can be a head of a team, without being a star with an ego that automatically makes locker room structure clashes; one that helps to build from back, and stays fit
c) A reliable forward comfortable centrally, doesn't even have to produce insane individual output, Barca are good offensively at coping with it but need a constant presence to help balance - can't just fix the D - an obvious issue - without simultaneously sending a message that O isn't that great either
d) Athletic CM and LB to partner FDJ and Pedri down that left side setting up whoever the forwards of choice are going to be

Only change Koeman if keeping him means he throws a hissy fit over losing 1-2 finished players who shouldn't have even been here since 2018-19

.

Bro, your analysis of Barca >>>>> your analysis of RM

Just want to point out, if these are the current world class coaches:

Erik ten Hag is 51 years old and have coached Ajax for four years, before that Bayern II and a couple of minor dutch teams. He had one good run in the CL and has won the dutch league.
Flick had worked for 15 years as an assistant, suddenly was world class after bringing Bayern a CL.
Nagelsmann is pretty unproven right now I'd say. A lot of hype obviously, but what proof is there of him handling a world class squad to regular trophies? Did he win ANY title yet?
Klopp and Tuchel I don't know, I guess these two german coaches have worked themselves up and proven to be world class through good results at Mainz and then Dortmund...
Pep is very much proven right now, but, as we know, wasn't proven when he got the job.

Yes, as with Rijkaard or with Pep.
The job of those deciding on the next coach is to have a sense of who would fit at Barcelona and make the right decisions here, in the unique situation of the club. It's not at all about listing trophies at other places, or who is "world class" or not. If you do that you are at least one step behind.
Koeman is more and more proven to not be the right man.

Mate, your understanding of the sport makes me sad honestly.
If you think that Xavi or whoever 'Barca DNA' would be better at Barca than Ten Haag, Flick, Nagelsman, Tuchel, and Klopp, then sorry you don't get the sport

Pep is Pep. Generational talent and defined football. Happens once in a 100 years.
Not everytime Barca need or think they need a coach.
Wake up from your dream-land.

For me, he's the Irish Thomas Tuchel breh.

-Built-up Liverpool back to title contenders. Didn't win but at least bought them back into contendership.
-Back to back treble seasons with Celtic. First-ever historic double-treble.
-Built Leicester back up to top 4 level

#TeamBrendan has no losses.

I like Rodgers, but not sure I'd hire him to lead a new project.

Then again it's not like our options are great. If Flick didn't throw a tantrum and left Bayern for the German NT I think Nagelsmann would have been our first choice.

Rodgers ultimate ambition is to coach Barca and is fluent in Spanish for that reason.

Gamble but so to would any coach be now.

Wont happen though and Spurs want him this summer.

is going from Leicester to Tottenham even an upgrade these days?

Would be an upgrade in size of club even if Leicester maybe currently have the better squad.

Probably depends on if Kane stays and if thinks can go an higher with Leicester than CL and cup final/FA Cup.

Managing a huge London Club in that stadium would be massive draw would think.

Been told he is first choice and he is likely to take it if offered from in the know folk.

I hope Leicester manage to replace him well in that case.

I really like how they've established themselves as a top team. Really well run club from ownership down to management from what it seems.

I'd have Brendan Rodgers here in a heartbeat, think he's a genuine top class coach. However, not a chance Barca considers him.

Shame he might be downgrading to Tottenham. They might not have CL like Leicester will but at least they've got two pitches.

I would take him only if all other WC options are not available.
Certainly, I would take him over Xavi
