Watching 2016 highlights of him trying to convince myself he still is a baller

Exactly. Same.

A change of scenery will do him well, and his fit with what Barca need is perfect. Tireless, strong defensively, great technique, and can score - whether long shots or arriving late in the box. And he has to know that he will not be starting every game.

If we had two midfielders who added 6-7 goals each per season then I think we'd be looking very good. If Koeman has eyes he'll see Pedri offers a bit more going forward. I think we can finally have an attack that has danger from all over the place for the first time since Lucho days. With Depay who can run in behind, Fati back too. Goals won't be a problem, nor will creating them.

Apparently he doesn't want to join us but Atletico want Griezmann and have FFP issues

Hard to speculate on "why" if this is true, but another reason for the Pjanic swap being so terrible is that it sets a bad example for other players.
Of course he knows the president changed, but still - if I was a player and saw the way a so called world class player as Pjanic was used I'd think twice before joining.
This is always the case to an extent in swap deals too, and Saul would be completely understandably worried about what his role would be in Koemans team.
