Sergio Agüero

He did have a rough last year, with injuries and corona. Maybe starting fresh, without health issues, will squeeze 2 seasons of 15+ la liga goals. We may need him as a starter for only next season anyway.

What are people expecting?

Barca have no money. Just took a fucking loan to cover wages not paid and to cover the debt long term.

Haaland or the likes are not happening.

Personally I also think Aguero is finished, but he at least is not worse than Braithwaite, and he is on a free transfers with low wages. That is something new.

Bartomeu the bastard have destroyed the club by his ridiculous contracts, and Laporta have to use the next 2-3 years to get out of ALL of those. Some of them will get managed this summer, but you are kidding yourself if you think it is in order for next summer.

So looking for free transfers this summer such as Garcia, Depay, Aguero, Emerson (not free but will cancel out with Todibo/Alena departure) is more than okay.

We are not in a financial position to make a push for the Champions League - despite what Laporta says. He has to renew squad, and it takes time with these ridiculous contracts. You can get winning the Champions League with newly bought Haaland-like players out of your thick skulls right now.

James Milner:

Sergio Aguero is probably the worst Player in the training. He doesn't run and he doesn't seem to care but when the match begins , he is shows his real desire.

Welcome Kun but pls don't be injured

Low risk, high reward signing - I approve

Low Risk Low reward IMO.
He isn't going to be a starter or anything, at least not good one.
There best scenario is solid 9 from the bench, which isn't a high reward.
Worth the risk, since his contract is very favourable

As the coach for next season is not officially announced yet, no one knows what the starting XI will be but he has not been signed to be a starter but a lethal goalscorer to help the team & rotation

Considering Kun's goalscoring prowess & how much is saved in transfer fees, few could name a comparable backup who could be acquired this cheaply between transfer fee & wages

In terms of rewards, we finally get a competent goalscorer in that attacking front 3 we haven't enjoyed since Pedro left. He knows the league, language, culture and best of all he is close to Leo. Sporting wise, he has few peers despite how poorly he has fared for Los Albicelestes - but even that can see a reward as they will have time to develop on pitch chemistry in a way they have never enjoyed previously. The fact that he does not rely on pace but bursts of acceleration over 5m, he is not likely to lose effectiveness around the box the way Griezmann et al have over the years post Pedro

Low risk, high reward - that's how you assess a deal

From the bench if we had any solid options at striker, but we don't. So my bet is he'll start most games. Maybe Griezmann can play some of the shite games as he usually scores in those.

Have to be seen if he will be a bad signing or not. I hear his salary will only be 5m euros a year? If he contributes with goals and helps us to a title he will already come good on the investment.

It's not 5m a year.... it's just under 10m a year.

People have way too high expectations. We have NO MONEY and this is pretty much the best signing we can make with our financial situation. Like it or not, this is the best we can do right now.

We should be happy to improve from Braithwaite to Aguero. That's a massive upgrade.

That's debatable. He's younger and will offer us something different. He's also not injury-prone as Aguero is. Also, Braithwaite is a better fit with Messi than Aguero is. He probably offered more than Aguero did this season.

Like Braithwaite offered us something else this season, where he had no competition for the ST position? Braithwaite having chemistry with Messi now

Barca have signed a great player, but one who has frequent injuries and needs to come back slowly from injury. Remember that when he misses games next season.

Not a fan of this transfer, but at least I can see the reasoning.

It will be very refreshing to have two players again, who can actually play in the center. Even if its "just" Depay and Aguero. It annoyed me to no end having at best one serviceable striker in the last few seasons.

Never stated Braithwaite had chemistry. Just said that he's a better fit than Aguero is. Aguero and Messi are too similar. At least with Braithwaite, he would offer us something different..... and I think Braithwaite isn't great.
