we need a new manager with new ideas and tactics

tito only won the la liga because he got messi and real madrid messed up the league big time and we still couldnt beat them.

The defense was so bad this season we allways conceded stupid goals and our passing is just mindless sideway and back passing now with no real idea behind it and that we rely so heavy on messi was our neck break

the tika taka era should end when pep left because pep knew it was over and jose and other big teams knew how to beat us and that people still want to play this way is just crazy

tito dont look like someone who can motivate people at all and i got mad when he was just standing there on the sideline while we got overrun by bayern and made the first sub after getting 4 goals in the 82th minute

i think another season with him would be a wasted one because dont forget players like messi and inesta are getting older every year and they still have potential to win big things with the right manager

Let's not pretend that Tito is the best option because he's from La Masia. La Masia doesn't exclusively produce Messis, Xavis, Puyols and Peps. It also produces crap more often than not. Including players and coaches.

THIS THIS THIS on so many levels i hated how much spot light la masia got when pep was manager and it sounded like every player who comes from the youth in the first team is allready world class

lol Such nonsense. I bet Heynckes knows the Barca philosophy better than Tito. This is what Heynckes said before the CL draws:

Heynckes: “If we do draw Barcelona, we’ll be ready. I know them like the back of my own hand, maybe even better than my own team … I know their philosophy, their system, their tactics and all their players.”

Also Bayern play a lot more like Pep's Barca (possession with high intensity pressing and youth players like Alaba, Kroos, Müller, Shaqiri as central figures) than Barca does under Tito. Except that they are so balanced that they can even live without having the ball and execute counterattacking football. They have basically adopted the best of Barca (pressing + possession) and Madrid (lethal on the break). Can't believe Bayern are replacing him. If our board had some sense they'd immediately offer him a contract.

Valdes is hoofing the ball upfield all season long and losing us possession because we can't win aerial duels after his goalkicks and no one is telling him to stop it. Hello, Tito?! Are you watching?

Please remind me - who was the coach who said Alex Song could play as a centerback?

Laudrup would be another option who probably knows more about Barca's philosophy (having first-hand experience under Cruyff's management) than Tito. He'd also be a charismatic figure and footballing icon whom players would respect which would be automatic motivation (imagine Iniesta under Laudrup, he'd probably learn how to score goals).

People will be surprised when we'll invest big money in star names like Hummels and Neymar and the problems will still remain. The overall organisation of this team is leaving a lot to be desired since day 1, regardless of the players. You could sense something was wrong the day Madrid raped us in the Supercopa.

The last time Barca conceded 60+ goals in a season was in the Gaspart era.

You don't general agree with every word someone says but in this case, yes yes yes

The system have been the issue from day one and I have been saying it here and other places.

It doesn't create enough chances thus we are totally reliant on individual moments of excellence to score goals, we have basically turned Madrid in that regards, except their system actually creates a few chances per game.

The defense is a absolute disgrace and the key to fix it is so clear yet has not Been done, I could go on and on

Nice post.
I agree that as a coach Tito is not a best. We called Barca Pep's team because at that time the whole team is so unique in their play styles as well as the nice chemistry between one another. But I will never call this Barca Tito's. Because all I can see is Pep's shadow; and sometimes lack of motivation. OMG I miss Pep's revolutionary ideas- especially when we lose.
Barca is still great but great players don't give you a great team. And think once again if you want to replace the coach. I don't want to see the tragedy of LA Lakers happens to Barca.

First season; Semi-finals of the Champions League and Copa, wins the league at a canter. Beats cancer. And you're thinking of firing him? Seriously, you take it all for granted, winning the league is hard and the team has done it with a fantastic attitude where they fought for every point to break the half season points record. It's shameful to see a thread like this on a Barca forum, this is what you'd expect from Real Madrid and their managerial merry go round. You were probably wanting Rijkaard to be fired too right?

Let's think about this season. First half of the season, Barcelona gets 55 points, sets the record for most points attained in the first half of a season. Pretty good start right? Then Tito suffers a relapse of his throat cancer and has to take a leave. During this time, Barcelona gets knocked out of the semifinals of the Copa del Rey by Madrid, an unfortunate result. But Barcelona then continues their success in La Liga and Champions League, remaining the inevitable victors of the league, and making into the semifinals of the Champions League. Playing against one of the strongest teams in the world, Barca's roster, not at all in ideal health, has a poorly played away game which is made worse by questionable calls. Let's play this out and say Barcelon loses in the semifinals and Bayern wins the CL, and Barca wins La Liga. Now I know this is a results-oriented analysis, but can you really look at this result and be disappointed in Tito's first year of heading the team? Because it sounds pretty incredible to me.

Though we all know Barcelona is just going to make a comeback, win the CL, and make this poll look like a complete joke anyways :).

Though, if the job is getting too in the way of Tito's health, I certainly think he should step down. But not because of poor performance.

I think Tito has done good and bad this season, but I think his tactics and team selections can leave me wondering more often than not. I think the straw that broke the camels back was seeing him stand and watch his team get slaughtered and DO NOTHING. No fire, no gusto, no substitutions after 2-0, not a shred of energy or the slightest hint of a new or fresh idea from Tito. His lack of decision making at that point said it all. Then Roura saying they felt the fielded group of players could have scored? Just made Roura's slump more clear. They are not good coaches. Probably good on paper and behind the scenes tweaks and ideas but push come to shove, CL type of pressure? They don't cut it and we need a change.

I just want something I'm know I'm not going to get... an explanation...
*After being 2 goals down and not creating a single chance why didn't he even attempt a change/sub until the 83rd minute?
*Messi clearly wasn't fully fit, after 60 minutes why continue to let him struggle on the pitch?
*Why is he so stuck on 1 lineup (starting 11) when some clearly shouldn't be played much less given the full 90?
*Why go for Song when we have Mascherano and clearly should have got (for half the price) Vertonghen?

Where was Barca before Guardiola & Tito Vilanova?? the tiki-taka football that we all like and because of which we dominated the world football for 5 years, how proudly we say look Barca is playing with 10 home grown players.

There's 1 major difference in the previous 4 years and now and that's the lack of Pep. This season is proof that he was the mastermind behind our style of play and progression of the youth. Yes we will win the league but let's be honest with ourselves... it's because Messi bailed us out all season. They'd score 2, Messi would score 3.
I wish Tito good health and recovery. Some things are more important than football and what he and his family have gone through is anything but easy. Whenever he was around and on the touchline though, I just don't feel he made any real decisions. While Pep wanted to make changes for the following season, Tito just continued the same things from last year and Messi bailed him out except for the few times he was shut down. When that happened the true state of our club was shown.

maybe he hasn't belief in sub-players!

maybe because he believes in miracle and who is better than messiah for that?

i haven't any idea about this:facepalm::facepalm:

we want to say we are different, in everything!!

How many years have bayern been applying a 'high' intensity pressuring?, As a matter of a fact, When was the last time they ever won a CL?, When was the last time they won BL?, Like it or not bayern is the hungriest team in europe, And your team is the exact opposite, A team already stuffed success more than any club since sacchi's milan.
If you think football is just about 'tactics', Or using this formation or that, Switch up this with that, Then you'll make a pretty 'lousy' coach yourself, You should take your head out of the sand just like many in here, This team was only going down hill, Pep himself knew it was a sinking ship, And if you think bringing Heynckes or any new coach as if somehow he'll erase the players memories of what happened in the last 5 years And make them the best again, Then yeah you'll be in for a surprise.
Tito tried to introduce more vertical play to our style, And things didn't go great, And ended up conceded goals more than any other time, Now weather he'll change this or thinks he can amends it's 'holes' i don't know, But we're not the kind of club who fire coaches from their first season.

If the club fired Tito it would be a very sad day. Even if he isn't the best choice and there are better managers out there, firing him after a season of winning the league and getting to the semi finals of the Champions League would be an absolute disgrace. It would be a decision that would instantly bring instability to the club. What if we got another manager who had a worse season than Tito next year? Would we fire him?

Either you are a Chelsea fan or you are a fan of Chelsea's philosophy of kicking out coaches every now and then and changing styles every season without giving them a proper chance. Tito has been suffering health crisis throughout the season. And just because Bayern were far stronger than Barca and doesn't mean that Heynckes know's Barca philosophy, he just knew that Barca has the weakest defence among all top clubs, he hasn't implemented Barca philosophy at Bayern and he has got amazing( arguably the best) squad at his disposal. And no Laudrup doesn't know about Barca's philosophy he has only seen it never been a part of it as when he used to play for Barca this wasn't the style back then. The tiki-taka style was implemented by Pep & tito. Yes their are clear problems in defence, and attack and can be solved via intellingent transfers coming transfer window. But changing the system & coach!? you need to calm down and be patient and stop campaigning against tito. What if we fire tito and replace him with Heynckes or Laudrup and they fail then will you give him a chance next year or start campaigning against them? anyways, you have your opinion I have mine but I would really like to see a healthy/fit Tito to continue next season.
