Is it true that China might have broken the previous world record too? They were fractions of a second behind.
Could be, but I have always a strange feeling about Chinese athletes. They left the normal "sport" long ago and breed cyborgs for propaganda value. While other athletes have normal lifes and jobs most of the time, Chinese have their prisons academies where they live for years without seeing their family. China started to participate in nearly all disciplines not so long ago and it's not because they are so many. You also don't see Indian athletes everywhere.
Is it still a fair competition if you do a normal training routine, while your opponent only lives for the olympia moment? I don't know to be honest.

And then there's the Chinese swim doping question that IOC turned down really fast, because Bach's bending over to everyone who pays him.

That is true and a great point. There were also always those big stories about China dropping funding for athletes who didn't win gold.

That's China though - they're brutal when it comes to this sort of stuff. They need to win and second place is nowhere. They're probably the worst for that, even more than the USA or Russia.

Sports propaganda had always a very high priority in socialist regimes. Nothing easier than to keep the people happy in their poverty and hard life, when parading strong athletes they can identify with.

That's true

It was a very entertaining night tonight anyway, both in the athletics and the swimming.

The thing about track and field is I don't get that interested in the throwing events. I like javelin but do they really have to have about four throwing events? Javelin, discus, hammer and shot put. Also, every time I watch the pole vault I think to myself how scary that would be to try lol.

Yeah, sadly swimming and archery comes to an end tomorrow. Not that interested in stadium athletics, thankfully volleyball, canoe and beach volleyball gonna continue for some time still ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
Taekwondo also gonna start on the 7th. So a few interesting disciplines for me still left.

Good stuff mate. I do like the track and field so gonna keep watching it.

I like hockey and handball but not watched any at this Olympics so far.

El Gato

Villarato!
So first we have Jimmer Fredette in 3v3 tourney
Now we have Chase Budinger who was once a whisker away from winning a terrible 2012 dunk contest, in the knockouts of beach volleyball?

So 16 minutes injury time for the French.

For anyone watching the game, justified?
I believe they've had massive injury time in just about every game. It's been like the World Cup in that respect, where there was a lot of injury time in many games.

I am not sure the players appreciate it given they are playing every three days or so.

First time watching China-Swiss. This needs a thorough investigation of their skills. China looking more skilled so far ( ಠ ͜ʖಠ)
Swiss minus points for leggins and t-shirt!
