The Negreira case

Horatio

You're welcome
Is this big news at all? Hearing so little about it. No traction in media at all. Prolly a weak ass case against us.

Where do you get the impression that Florentino doesn?t care about the league? Of course he does, the league is the foundation of any club, even for these big clubs that have been internationalized, without the league a club doesn?t have much to stand on.

Bayernizing La Liga will not benefit Madrid at all. Boring league, no suspense, less interest, less attention, less money. The ESL won?t materialize for at least a couple of decades.

He doesn't give a flying fuck about it lol
He's been trying to make Super League for 20+ years and leave it behind if at all can dispense with flying about the lowly clubs that nobody bar Real fans bothers to watch matches of when they go to face them

It'll benefit RM to monopolize the league and present selves as the only real attractive market for star players on Spanish soil, no doubt

Not sure how it'll benefit Real Madrid when the TV deal and commercial rights are significantly reduced making them lose out on a lot of money. You'd be a fool to believe those companies are going to pay the same amount of money for a Barcelona and El Clasico-less La Liga, and Javier Tebas is probably going to take more money off Real Madrid than all the other smaller clubs as he's on a crusade against them too lol.

Super League is not happening if the ECJ rules against its legality.

Yeah I'm in agreement, would sell as long as it's not an oil state, most notably Qatar who have turned PSG into a complete circus. UAE did a good job with City but still are hit by scandals so no guarantee we don't find ourselves in court again.

True, I don't have a specific problem with oil in itself as a way to generate money, but with the arrogance and "money buys all" attitude of Qatar in particular. Deep down they believe Qatar reigns supreme.

At least City respected the role of the manager and hired the best, and admitted they didn't know about football so they brought people that provenly do to lead the club. Hence why despite their financial doping, that club is built properly, like any other top club.

Qatar in comparison beleive their money and wealth doesn't even need a manager to lead to success, what they have (basically money and purchasing power) is already enough, and don't want intermediary figures like Pep to get media attention off Qatar in case success is achieved. They treated all managers they had like absolute shit, and had some top ones along the way.

Those guys are desperate to make sure that when they win it's gonna be thanks to the mighty power of Qatar state. They are the football equivalent of a platinum plated Bugatti running down the street to be admired for sheer wealth.

Won't waste any breath discussing this as it won't happen anyway.

Feel for United fans though, who are on massive copium.

Dont think he's a fool to believe he'd be getting same amount of money for Clasico-less Liga.
He simply doesn't care if Real is part of the league or not, as has been evidenced by his half-baked ESL plan in last iteration. Was more than willing to play it alongside ESL, but no doubt knew it'll eventually lead to its extinction.

Madrid are starting to seriously derail themselves in terms of how they conduct a season btw. But as long as the rest of Europe behave like absolute bums in CL, including so called top clubs like Liverpool and Bayern lol, folding against them like a bunch of schoolboys, of course they can afford the luxury of not approaching the league with as much determination as it deserves. They pay the price of it in La Liga, but drunk from the success of CL in the last decade, they seem like they don't care.

Let them have 2-3 trophyless seasons in a row, with no CL to get high on, and I can guarantee you that in the 4th season they'll pull out the bus for a Copa del Rey again.

One hell of a gamble considering the ESL project might be dead by this summer depending on the ECJ ruling on the matter.

Florentino Perez became motivated to return to Madrid as President, because he couldn't stand seeing Barcelona under Pep set up unprecedented levels of domination, while Madrid became a sort of sparring partner. If anyone thinks that Madrid and Barca don't need each other to motivate themselves they are deluded.

Anyone thinks it's pure coincidence that the best period of Madrid since the 50s happened exactly after Pep's era at Barcelona? Madridistas were probably fuming to see their archrival being touted as the best side ever, books being written about Barca, every pundit gushing about them as establishing an unseen level of domination and so on.

Joan Laporta- "Culers, be calm. Bar?a is innocent of what it is accused of and the victim of a campaign against its honor in which everyone is now involved. No surprise, we will defend Bar?a and prove our innocence. Many will have to rectify."

Yea
But not surprising, always been a man of extremes
Gambled on Mbappe being lured in
Gambled on Hazard being worth the dough Chelsea asked
Gambled on Bale turning into next Cristiano when handed him his 2016 extension
Gambled on many other things happening before
ESL, right after the new Bernabeu, is his magnum opus, been on about it for the longest time
He wants to be remembered in the chronicles as the man that revolutionised the club/sport as we know it

If our future is more corruption scandals, levers being pulled due to more mismanagement then I would want the club to be sold for sure than for it to essentially become a B or C-tier club due to all those issues accumulating. Although not sold to a state.

Not sure why anyone would get so defensive about it when the club's made it obvious they see non-Catalan fans as second class fans.

First option would be everything else being mentioned earlier in this thread though which I cannot be bothered repeating half a dozen times.

How did you get this impression?

If the club were to be sold, I don't think you can pick and choose the buyer and say we will not sell the club to the oil states and only to some American billionaires etc.

Even in the case of American billionaires, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal etc., while not as bad as Valencia of course, haven't been that great either.
