We should buy Hummels (24) and not Thiago Silva (28). I guess that they will cost basically the same, but the main difference is the age of the players. Thiago Silva may have more experience on top level, but he will be usefull for only 3/4 seasons. Hummels, instead, will play on top level for another 8 seasons. Definitely Hummels for me.

Cos having two immobile defenders in Pique and Hummels in the starting XI is the best possible alternative out there.

There's no american, russian or asian investor running the club and that's why we can't spend like crazy while not thinking about finances.
It's also about the new financial fair play rule, that limits the amount of money you can spend.

Multiple Spanish news and radio sources are reporting David Villa to Tottenham is almost done (only the little administrative things left, could be announced very soon). AVB has personally appealed to Villa.

Madrid has approached Heynckes, but only for an "exchange of ideas." (How did you manage in one year what we could not do after several years of bankrupting La Liga/selling our souls?)

Barca could put up 57M, and also fork out for a CB. Getting those two on board would clarify which of the more valuable players the team would want to sell.

Then buy only a goalie the next year.

I think it's beyond stupid to buy Neymar for a lot of money and neglect other weaknesses in our team just because he would return that cash with shirt sales and whatever. If the board is so sure that he will return whatever they pay for him then why can't they just add his transfer sum to the usual transfer budget we have? I'm not saying he won't be good and I don't believe the rumors about the 57 million, but if we sign him for economic reasons instead of other players for sports reasons, we're not a football club but merely a company. This might be Rosell's interpretation of més que un club.

I'm pretty sure it's not the only source that states Alves makes 200k quid a week, which is cosmical.
Also, looking at how much a Bayern player makes it makes me feel sick that our players reached these salaries, except for Messi, who can be well worth 3 times that.

Those are the same as football manager too. I'm not sure Barça reveals the exact amount any player makes. And I highly doubt alves or song make more than Iniesta.
