¡Gr?*cies Xavi!
New players like Eriksen signed and played well while Adebayor didnt struggle to score goals.

The opportunity was there at Spurs last season for a CF to score a lot of goals, Soldado just wasnt good enough to do it.

You seem to forget the fact that Adebayor wasn't a new summer signing like Soldado was. With that said, only Eriksen played well. The rest were rather underwhelming apart from Lamela, who was injured most of the season.

Adebayor wasnt a summer signing but you claimed they 'bought a whole new team' so Adebayor had to deal with new players also.

If it was a problem for Soldado why not Adebayor?

Soldado was poor and plenty of teams bring in new players and expect much better than he gave them.

Adebayor had experience in the PL while you can't say the same about Soldado. Adebayor also got a lot more chances in the second half of the season than Soldado.

Not all teams buy 7 new potential starters and expect to gel with each other right away.

Soldado got more minutes and games than Adebayor.

They never tried to put in seven new players to the starting line up.

Only 3/4 of those new players became regulars which was nothing unique to Spurs and happens to teams all the time.

Under AVB when the whole team was shit, yes, but not under Sherwood.

Soldado still had to adapt and settle in. I'm not saying he did well in his first season, but it sounds like you expected him to perform from the get-go.

Only 3 of Spurs signing last season became first team regulars - Soldado, Paulinho and Eriksen.

That is nothing unique and Spurs were playing well as a team overall finishing one place lower than previous season and they played a system that allowed CF to get goals - as Adebayor proved getting his best tally in 6/7 years.

This idea that Spurs were a whole new team bedding together that made i difficult for Soldado to get goals isnt accurate.

All you have left is that he was a new striker in a new league, which many players have been and done much better than Soldado did.

Spurs certainly didn't play well last season. They improved under Sherwood, but that doesn't say much.

For some reason you seem to ignore the fact that it was AVB who bought Soldado for whom he was a regular, but not under Sherwood. He clearly preferred Adebayor over Soldado.

Not ignoring anything - AVB bought Soldado and Soldado was poor. Sherwood came in and gave Soldado a chance as part of a front two..... and he was poor.

Sherwood started Soldado in 6 of his first 8 league games. He fell out of favour with him because he was so poor.

Sherwood did not 'prefer' Adebayor over Soldado as he could have played both of them and tried to.

The reason Soldado got less games under Sherwood towards then latter half of season was that he had been awful under two different managers and in two different systems.

I'm not saying that he has been anything other than poor, but it sounds like you don't rate him at all. Why is that? Okay, he has had a disappointing season in a dysfunctional Tottenham side, but in the season prior to last year, he was an essential part of a Valencia team that got in the CL regularly. A move back to Spain and Atletico would be the best solution, unless Pochettino can get him firing again.

He is a good striker that had an awful season at Totenham which was down to him being poor and not a 'dysfunctional side'

They finished one place lower in the league and the stats of Adebayor show it wasnt impossible for a striker to come in and score goals.

If anything a large part of them being so poor under AVB was his unwillingness to drop Soldado for Adebayor.

Soldado made the team poorer rather than the team making it difficult for him to score goals.

I've li'l respect for Soldado. He was made captain in only his sec season at Valencia for being a local boy. He was made the focal point in attack, with the entire team working its ass off to bring him joy in the attacking third. Despite his Torres-esque moments, missing open nets, he was much loved by the Los che fans who continued to overlook his flaws, and he kept his top dog status. He vows his loyalty. Fast forward -summer 2013, Valencia drops out of the CL, and as it starts looking bad for the club, Mr captain is the first to flee.

I hope if he/when he returns to Mestalla, VAL fans give him a welcome he won't forget.

One player made the team poor? Come on. Are you a Spurs supporter?

They lost 6-0 and 1-5 against City, 0-3 against West Ham, 0-5 and 4-0 against Liverpool and 4-0 against Chelsea. How is that not dysfunctional? I watched around 20-25 of their games last season, and they certainly didn't play well in any of them. They were heavily dependent on the form of Eriksen and Adebayor.

Didn't they need the money, just like they did with the sales of Villa and Silva?

I never said he was the sole reason they were poor under AVB but he was a big part of it and should have been dropped long before he was.

Soldado was poor and even when the team picked up he was still poor. It was not a case of him being let down by a dysfunctional team as he looked just as bad when they got better towards end of season.

They lost the CL money. So they had to reduce their wage bill. Still Soldado could've stayed had he agreed for a wage-cut. Not only did he leave, he did so on a bitter note. Lashing out against the board (don't remember the details atm) nor acknowledging their fans.
