Guaita should only be a Pinto replacement. Not number one material at a club like ours. Im starting to think Valencia and Arsenal are the only places we scout in depth

40m for Hummels is way too much.

Couldn't agree more, he's great but not that great, but I can't imagine Dortmund settling for less, not when they see Bayern spending 40m on Javi Martinez.


Inigo Martinez is a very good option, I know it's a bit of a weird one that no one really mentioned but if we can get Micah Richards for <10m I think that'd be a bargain.

I would still really like to see Sakho come in, good value for money as well as room for improvement.

I agree we you regarding Martinez. I don't think that Richards is someone we should be looking at. He seem's to lack the necessary intelligence to be a top class player. If you look at Richards, physically he has everything to be a multi-position defender. Right-back, Wing-Back, Right side of a three and a conventional CB. But both Capello and Mancini have both questioned his lack of tactical awareness. When Mancini started this season with three at the back Richards struggled badly. Plus he would require a chauffeur .

I think the only suitable defenders in the PL are Kompany and Vertonghen. I'd leave the likes of Agger, Skrtel and Vermaelen well alone.

Some of these proposed Valdes replacements are nowhere near good enough, they would actually not play ahead of Pinto. Goalkeeping after Valdes may well be significantly weaker.

To be a Barca CB, speed, passing and ball handling are much more important than for other teams. It might not be an established star.

Neymar will liven up the offense quite a bit.

When they say three players, is it accepted that Valdes will be leaving at the end of this season? Or is it three, maybe four depending on what Valdes decides to do?
