Some of these proposed Valdes replacements are nowhere near good enough, they would actually not play ahead of Pinto. Goalkeeping after Valdes may well be significantly weaker.

Never. Don't you know that Valdes is the weakest part of the team and that Barca can do significantly better?

We can actually do better ,but will we? Barca fans are always ambitious and hope to have the best players(can you blame them) that is why some of us (including me) would say we can do better ,but we can do much worse (which might be the case specially if we stick to getting a Spanish GK)

Call me biased or a romantic or maybe I just don't see Valdes to be as bad as many of here seem to do. He has his mistakes, but so do Neuer, Buffon, Casillas et al. It is not something that is solely reserved for Valdes. I don't think that Barca can do better as any keeper, may he be Spanish or German or English or whatever, needs to get used to the Barca-system, possibly the language and what it means to be a goalie for this club, and added to that the possibility of a new CB arriving and also having to adjust to the language and playing style, I can see Barca being more inconsistent than this season, especially the goalie.

When they say three players, is it accepted that Valdes will be leaving at the end of this season? Or is it three, maybe four depending on what Valdes decides to do?

Vilanova will in the coming 10 days talk with Valdes about his decision not to renew. It's not expected the keeper will change his mind [md]

3 including Valdes IMO.

I respect your opinion ,but I think that the language & barca style thing for a GK is overrated tbh, those things would affect him for 1 season maximum until he get adjusted ,that could happen to any player in any position
And while every GK has his mistakes ,VV had plenty of them tbh ,Neuer/Buffon/Casillas are just better GK,there is no shame in that as they are the best in there generations .anyway what is done is done ,VV has made his decision it seems and we should wish him all the luck
But as Barca fans ,I think we all hope we bring some one who is even much better than him

Neuer/Buffon/Casillas are just better GK,

Two of those three keepers have cost their clubs big money. Buffon has been has been with Juve twelve years and you could imagine Neuer doing a similar period at Bayern. Maybe this is the approach Barca should take, go and sign the best young keeper, who could serve the club for a long period. The likes of Courtois, ter Stegen, etc.

Yup, I think that's the way to go. De Gea could be the best option IMO, but he'd also be the most unlikely. The only (somewhat) experienced keeper I can see us getting who's at the level we need is Lloris.

It has a higher chance of happening than De Gea. Especially if Spurs don't make the top 4.
I agree though, it's unlikely. Especially considering that knowing Spurs, they'll probably ask for a shitload of cash.

Spurs only have Lloris for GK and they JUST bought him. Plus he's too good for them to let go.

De Gea is almost as unlikely but if he pushes for the move and United show more interest in Begovic, it can happen. It's not likely, but much more likely than Spurs selling Lloris.

People should realize that Tottenham is one of the worst teams to try to get one of their starts ,tbh I can't see our team dealing with them any time soon

In the UK, the most highly touted keeper outside the big clubs is Asmir Begovic, 25 of Stoke City, with a transfer fee in the region of £15m. I only mention this because he has been linked with most of the big clubs Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. If for example he was to join the likes of Man Utd or Chelsea, it might free up one of their keepers, eg a De Gea or Courtois.
