the branding is hilarious; "the best league in the world" to stuff like "the league of late goals", "the most entertaining", "the most competitive". Honestly Sky are an embarrassment. Leicester winning it on a Monday night was the ultimate culmination of the shitshow they are.

The fact that leicester won it will delude them even more as they will say that its so unpredictable that relegation level teams can make a surprise there although the truth is that any of their top teams aren't anything special.

Nah, I was bashing Sky more so. I think arguments about 'best league' are pretty pointless.

It's the same, really. What difference does it make if there's one draw with the path to the final, or several draws after each phase? None. As long as it's based on randomness luck plays a big part.

It gives UEFA the opportunity to make whatever draws they want and that's precisely what happened this season, at least.
They've made Barca, Atletico, Bayern and Juve play against eachother while giving Mierda only Europa League teams like Roma and Wolfsburg and ofc pairing them with the weakest and shittest team I ever saw in a CL semifininal, Shitty.

And no, I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all but they this ain't "pure luck" as I'm not Donald Trump. It is clearly a human intervention over the "hazard" factor.

I think that CL draw is semi rigged, because Uefa wants different (top) teams to win it.
Something like, their ideal scenario would be:
-- Barca wins in one year
-- then Real in the next year
-- then Bayern
-- then one English team
-- then Barca again
-- then Real etc

That way big sponsors like Nike and Adidas would both have their teams and their players winning it, and both big companies would profit.
The same story is about Spain, Germany and England if the winners are interchanging.

Also, Uefa is that way creating some kind of rivalry between 2-3-4 biggest teams.
Also, I don't think that Uefa would want Barca to win it 5 times in a row.
But also, I don't think that they would want for Real to win it 5 times in a row.

In a current era, there are some indications that Barca won "enough" of trophies, and Uefa would be happier now with Real winning 1-2 trophies.
But also, there are some indications that Uefa wanted us (Barca) to win some trophies in the past 10 years, the same as they are rooting currently for Real.
(Uefalona stories come here).

In shorter, I don't think that Uefa in general is rooting for Real ALWAYS.
If something like that exists, it is only a current state, since they want for Real to win it, so that Barca and Real can create even bigger rivalry, the same as Messi vs Cr7 (stuff like this sells papers, commercials, people watch games, people talk about it etc).

Imo, if one team is too dominant in a CL for 5 years in a row, Uefa will earn much less money from sponsors, commercials and tv sales.
This also explains why Uefa tried to create Barca:Real final for a few seasons in a row.
It would get the highest amount of viewers, tv sales, commercials, sponsors.

I usually hate majority of conspiracy theories, but since a lot of money is involved here, I do believe that the CL draw and referees are rigged and biased to some extent.
Again, NOT for Real, but for a "bigger picture"-plan where Uefa wants top teams to interchange on top every year.
(The same as how World cup hosts always get some help from the referees in a grup stage and until a quarterfinals).

A lot of money is involved and they are slightly "helping" to some teams to get more viewers and more people interested in games/tournaments.

There's no way on earth Barca wouldn't be in that final with the draw Real had.

There's a reason they make the semi every single year and it's because they never face anyone good until the semi. This season they even got a shit team in the semi.

I enjoy reading PL bashing so don't tell people to stop please.

The hubris over here is insufferable. People get high off their own dogma

Thank you.

This current success of La Liga is unprecedented in the Champions League. Three winners in a row. Suck it PL fanboys. Suck it.

I think Atletico are going to win it. Just through sheer force of will. Atleti have knocked out the two best teams in the world probably. They can knock out Real too.

I have to agree. There is a certain bias towards the big teams.

HOWEVER it is clear Real Madrid have more then just "luck of the draw".

They consistently get weaker sides and favourable decisions.

It's frustrating because we consistently have to play against strong teams year in year out.

All of our Cl wins we had to play the best.

In a one off match there is a greater chance that Atletico can have an off day.
