He is absolutely, by definition of it, a victim of racism. From a handful of the population. That is a problem.
Guys, who hurled some nasty words at him from 100 meters away are now in jail, you know. What happened to Vini? Did the words crush his bones? Sticks and stones.

He's been absolutely shocking for Brazil

Wouldn't be surprised if Neymar after his ACL injury wins the MOTM after his return

Not so sure, his progress has been quite slow. It’s been a year, but he looks so far from ready and he’s got no trust in his knee. He is not on the right path atm unfortunately.

His Physios seem like complete dorks, I could do a better job, and I’m just a student with very little ACL rehab experience.

Really shows how far it is from truth, that the best physios work in professional sports.

One more embarrassment for Brazil versus Paraguay. Not a single good performance for his nation to this day, and he's 24 years old. Shameful this guy is widely regarded to be the best player in the world. In a slightly better football era he would be a flop.

Truth is he would flop in this era as well in many, many top European clubs. Real Madrid is his comfort zone and if he ever leaves it he'll get fucked.

People will, of course, immediately push him to the stage of Brazilian all time great once he wins the ballon d'or - which is a disgraceful act from people who don't understand this guy is unrecognizable for his country. He plays like the most casual flop there ever was.

I have called out his overratedness for years now.

Does this mean I don’t rate Vini? No.
He has been great for Real. And one of top performing players in europe.

I mean that in the minds of people he’s made out to be a much more all round complete player than he actually is.

How can there be “best in world” shouts when as a winger you are at bottom end of ability to shoot on team? Modric, Valverde, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Brahim, Guler, Rudiger all have better shot. Clearly has Camavinga behind him. Carvajal not so sure.

What stands out tho and where he rivals Yamal is decisionmaking.

But yeah, speaking of Yamal: he’s what “best in world” should have a semblance of.

Vini has limitations and Real works around them. But at Brazil he gets exposed. Not a threat at goal. But he’s a threat when it comes to opponent giving away penalties.

Lamine delivers wherever he plays.

Yamal is a generational talent, only thing that can stop him is injury or being over played at young age.

But Vini isn't overrated, brazil is just a poorly coached teach and it been the case for at least 2 decades now.

He is legitimately top 3 player in the world over the last 2-3 seasons, easily better than Mbappe.

He’s overrated in that there is clear discrepancy between what people think he can do and what he actually can do.

He’s clever. And he listens to Ancelotti. That’s why he is performing so well. But nobody mentions how underwhelming he is for NT or how reluctant he is to try to score from various angles. Vini needs to be facing goal and be put 1 on 1 to go for the shot. Or it has to be a penalty. Unlike Rodrygo or Yamal. He prefers to dribble until situation arises where he can try to go down. The times its a dive somehow dont get punished tho.

Luckily he has a lot of good teammates he can pass the ball off to to do scoring. As pointed out his decision making has been great since a few seasons now.

Vini also not a threat during setpieces. He has power behind shot but not allowed to take FKs cause he lacks precision. Also underwhelming cross.

Vinicius winning the ballon d'or is worthy of a sweet laugh, but nothing more. It only shows how badly this sport fell off in last couple years. No chance Vinicius would be winning it 10 or 15 years prior, so he remains uncomparable to Neymar even if he wins 5 more.

By the way, with this competition at hand - barring any injuries - Lamine will be literally farming ballon d'ors in a few years. Of course, assuming no supertalent prodigies are waiting to be discovered even younger than him - which might be the case.
