True, but it is gonna be hard for ETH to land another top-club job after United. He made a career mistake.

Maybe.. but that is part of comparing them when stop.

I doubt Xavi would get a top job now either though and he won league.

ETH I wouldnt think pushed for likes of Casimero but club panicked and possibly he did when FDJ transfer failed.

Antony is stain on him without a doubt.

Recruitment at Barca has a huge advantage compared to United.. there is no chance Christensen, Gundo etc are signing for free there.

United need to clean house and build a younger team even if that means selling Rashford/Bruno etc to do it and a few years out of top 4.

Yes, but United also had much more funds to sign players than Barca had. So, Ten Hag also had some advantages over Xavi, he just squandered those with loads of bad signings.

Arteta is basically doing the job ETH had to do. Took over a team in shambles, and got it to EPL contender level by spending loads of money.

Yes they have wasted money but the players Barca had, the pull Barca has and players emerging from youth ranks is better situation for Xavi than ETH.

Arteta took years and was allowed by Arsenal to take time and build it outside the top 4.

I doubt Man Utd would allow that... they should whether it is ETH or anyone else but doubt will be case.

Arteta showed more than ETH. He was onto something. ETH is not building anything. His team looks painfully like Ole's United.
You say that because you have knowledge of how it turned out not because you are actually analysing it.

You didnt actually see them at that time, if you did, you would know that they were extremely unconvincing for a long time. They went on a 10 game winless run or something like that at some point under Arteta.

Arteta took 3 1/2 years to get Arsenal top 4 and they were a point off top four season before he joined.

As said he was allowed to strip back Arsenal and given time to do it.

Not way Man Utd are going.

Yup
And the same people that are calling for ETH's head now, were calling for Arteta's head then, because he 'was destroying Arsenal'
They never learn...

Let's hope ETH stays on this season to see him challenging for EPL next season. Not gonna happen...

Not to mention that ETH inherited a side that actually played CL knockouts under Ole, 2 times in a row actually. Not the shit Aresenal Arteta inherited.

Who thinks Man Utd will be challenging for league next season?

ETH inherited a side that had worst league season of any Utd side since EPL began and had not won a trophy under Ole.

Man Utd were a shambles and reliant on an old Ronaldo who had to go.

Arteta came in December and previous season they were 1 point off top 4.

You are reviing history if trying to make out it was claimed Arteta was always progressing Arsenal. There were many voices against him.

United finished 2nd in EPL in 2021. ETH can't even match that, Ole's best results are 2nd place finish in 2021, no? And CL knockouts. Ten Hag didn't even match that.

United season before ETH took over had their worst season in EPL history.

That is the closer and more relevant season.

What they did two seasons previously doesnt match what he took over and problems they had then.

Arteta took over in 19/20 at Arsenal. First half season, and then two seasons he was not challenging.
IF you want to apply the same standards you would expect ETH to challenge in 25/26

Plus, Arteta got all the support to do a real rebuild with every transfer window adding a piece: Partey, Gabriel, Odegaard, Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Zinchenko, Jesus, now Rice, Havertz, Timber and Raya
That's more than a XI of starters acquired, and it's not finished yet
