Barcelona media have been incredibly soft on Xavi because of his status as a player for us. If anything he's really lucky.

Pep was criticized way more harshly and we were dominating the world back then.
remember when Martino was taken to the gallows for having 49% possession against Rayo after beating their ass 4-0

Aye Xavi was supposedly one of the players that said to him Barca have to play in a certain way to win.

Fair enough v top team balancing game more but the turgid/awful football v la liga dross when have spent hundreds of millions on attacking players an then inherit midfielders like FDJ, Pedri and sign Gundo for big salary doesnt cut it.

Xavi will only leave when there's a clear replacement. Only another CL group exit would force Laporta to act, and that's still a very low chance.
I wonder if the club has a long term plan for Márquez. He should realistically be able to land better job offers if he keeps this going with Barca B.

One of the 'premium' managers as a Xavi replacement is unlikely imo.

Wouldn't surprise me if we get beat by Porto. Teams turn up to our ground and are not remotely phased by us, same as last year. Porto can pretty much guarantee going through with a win so they'll be pushing for it too.

Yeah Porto actually have very little to lose against us as their big game is against Shakhtar. Loss vs us and a draw vs Shakhtar is enough for them to finish second, so they might as well go all in against us, which actually could open up the game a bit more. Draw does them no good.

They will give 100% to get the first place in the group

The club will lose some more of the pull for players to come.

Players wont see Xavi as a coach they want to play under all that much and add the nonsense that gets thrown at likes of Gundogan when raises voice up about failings.

Can add to that the clear bias for certain spanish favs in the team entwined in politics for certain players.

Nonsense. At worst it's a miniscule argument against Barcelona. Money, locoation and fame are the big three. Also there's nothing wrong with our pull at the moment bar the lack of money.

Nah nonsense is the shite you come up with after each game and playters you bum up as 'immense' etc.

Pull diminshes for many reasons and coach/playing style plays a part.

Imo you both are right on the one hand the city, the fame and the history will lead players to come to us, on the other hand, especially in the present time players aren't as connected with the club as 15-20 years ago. We will rarely see another Totti, Messi, iniesta, xavi loyality. That's why most players will look at the success and im sure many good players would rather choose City than Barca at the moment
