Gonna be fun hiring a new manager then. Bring at least a La Liga title every season, or you're done.

Nope... you are not following.

Has been said Barca dont have to win league every season.. but no Barca coach survives if team is poor and not competing for league or back in table with teams shouldnt be.

Also European football is not purely about titles either.

What would it take for you to think a Barca coachs time is up after winning a title?

Ah, ok then. But you do admit that a Barca manager is kept in place by titles mainly. I mean, a new manager has to at least get a La Liga title in his first 2 seasons at the club or he's in big trouble.

Rijkaard did it, Pep certainly did it, Tito did it, Lucho did it, Valverde did it, Xavi did it. The ones that failed got bounced rather quickly.

Yes anyone who didnt win a title in first couple of years would be struggling... unless showing clear progrssion and losing out to a top Real side and doing better in Europe than previously and going to latter stages in CL etc and looking like could be on verge of competing.

No one claims Barca have to win title every year or coach sacked.

Been over that plenty.

Those names are not relevant either really.

Tito, Valverde and Lucho league and would not have survived and awful following one either.

Sure, nobody is absurd not to value a CL semifinal just because it didn't add to any silverware. Obviously if some new manager comes and the team starts to send home the likes of Bayern, Liverpool, Madrid, City, Arsenal in CL that is gonna get noted and admired.

I don't think xavi will be sent in the next two years. After all, he is a legend and he gives the Barcelona legend a chance for 2 years. Who hasn't been given a chance until now and moreover, he made the team a champion.

New coach would look to improve situation team was left in... as Xavi has to improve it from here also.

Beating likes of Frankfurt, Inter, Man Utd etc would be a start and also would be a start this season for Xavi to improve European performances.

In league both Xavi and who is next should be expected to play in a 'Barca' way and compete for title deep into season... barring some unstoppable Real team really.

True, if the new manager also walks to a league title. Then hats off.

I'd support that guy.

You list these teams...Bayern, Liverpool, Madrid, City, Arsenal.

Xavis Barca has played one of them and lost 5-0 on aggregate and that was at a time they were not playing well and teams in Germany taking points of them.

No one is saying Xavis record is down to losing to these teams.

I say it just to take the piss, but if a new guy comes as a manager the expectations would be about the same, to challenge for the title. I wouldn't demand a La Liga title en fanfare just because Xavi did it.

And in CL, anything more than passing the group stages and maybe getting to QF if a good opponent comes up in Last 16 would be exceeding expectations, looking at the current roster and our financial situation.

True, but you don't sack the manager at the first poor season after the manager already proved he can win big titles, even if it happens. That's the point. Klopp even survived a 5th place finish, that is truly horrible season.

You are really something.
You have the nerve to put Klopp in the same sentence, who resurrected a club from years of decline,
created the 2nd best team in the world, went toe to toe with the best team in the world,
won the most difficult league in the world, and played CL final three times

Klopp could get 4 or 5 years of bad places given all that he has achieved for Liverpool

Xavi should get nothing beyond this season. He won a mickey mouse League (compared to EPL) where only 2 (occasionally) 3 teams fight for it, after levers were pulled for the expensive players of his liking.
No previous coach had so much say in the teams strategic plan.
And what he delivered? Football of similar level, if not worse, to EV

A new coach would have same expectations and probably more than Xavi has had to be honest.

Same as the expectations on Xavi from here if took over now.

The CL expectations depend on who draw and when and if meet a top side compete with them and dont go down with a whimper if cant win.

Repeated failure piles on pressure of what another European not being good enough is also.

Just that the performance of Xavi from last season takes a big effort to beat for a new manager. Not easy to dominate a big league like that. Especially in your first full season as a Barca manager.

Tall order. That's all.
