EV 'had Messi' so should win league....

Reality...Messi and MSN were there the previous season and won nothing,

EV with Messi won two league titles and was top when sacked in 3rd season... 'with Messi' Barca then failed to win that title and the following season.

But aye all it takes is 'having Messi'.

Also.. Real had Ronaldo and a team dominating CL.. so competition is also relevant.

I was one of the most active advocates of Valverde OUT back then, but not based on his results.
Rather on the horrible football.
Whoever was ValverdeOUT back then, but is Xavi IN now, and tries to rationalize that
either is a total hypocrite or something malfunctions in his brain

Just that the performance of Xavi from last season takes a big effort to beat for a new manager. Not easy to dominate a big league like that. Especially in your first full season as a Barca manager.

Tall order. That's all.

I remember watching Wsop while back. Amateur Darvin Moon with stellar run of cards, reaching stellar positive variance and running well above expected value, ending with heads up for the title. Xavi is football version of that.

So no, not a big effort really. Especially when you are up against the worst Madrid in more than a decade, and Carlo who is attrocious league manager.

2nd EV season was legit except for that nightmare game and the storm that followed after. 1st season vs Flopetegui and Solari Madrid... not much competition. Not to mention the much superior Barca team.

Can't compare with a straight face, not surprising that some here try to though, feeding on bread crumbs.

Like you claimed Real flopped last season as didnt try.... that a 'flop season' also?

First season it was a Real team that won the CL for third time in row and got couple less points than did last season.

How long should EV been given due to x2 league titles and top when sacked?

Usual mental gymnastics as cant answer how long EV should have got due to x2 titles....

Then try to deflect with nonsense.

Usual.

1st season from EV was against Zidane Madrid in 17/18....

True, in the 2nd season they played like shit and got stuffed by Ajax in CL. That was one of the worst Madrid sides in the last 10 years. If not the worst.

Still, point remains that EV had a much superior team, and none of the financial issues to be worried about.

Aye EV broke them.

Also he got more points in 2nd than Real did the one before and had Atleti there.

All these excuses for how poor Real were any time EV or Xavi win a title...

How long should EV have got due to x2 titles and top when sacked?

I already said I was too harsh on EV. Move along.

Doesn't mean the Barca from back then is in any way similar to the current one.
