It's really bad that Xavi seems mortified to not start/sub Levsky out. Both the fact that he himself demanded him and he is an old veteran, who probably has strong bullying factor against meek faced chameleon eyes, is bad for the team. If Pep or someone with Pep's or even Simeone's character was at the helm, Lews would be a bench player long time ago and i think Barca as a team, it's chemistry and ability to score goals had improved already. He makes the same failures as Valverde did, when he put 100% trust on veterans, instead of reviving team and weed out the deadwood. But Ernie at least had an excuse to be forced to do so, while Xavi has full freedom. No reason to make stupid decisions in awe of peer pressure now. Just admit your mistakes (even if not publicly) and move on, using the best players you have for current tasks.

The only minor point I am giving Xavi is that he finally decided to sub Lewa out.
If he decides to keep doing that, and also bench him, team will be better going forward.

No miracles of course, 0 titles by the end of the season is almost certain, and he needs to go and make way for a serious coach. That doesn't change

dude we are still in Copa

Xavi in that "meaningless" press conference also told another transfer this window is unlikely. So there goes Laporta's next Edgar Davids balloon.

And reiterated they've not thrown the towel yet.

The only news I've seen in terms of transfers is Lucas Bergvall a couple of days ago and it seems like things are going in our direction but it would only be a transfer for the summer though.

The club doesn't need transfers imo, Barca are still trying to get back to last season's level, league-wise. Unless you fantasize about claiming the CL crown. For that you need big transfers, but many teams try to get a CL title and they manage one title in 10 years or so at best.

Bayern has like 2 real CL titles in the last 50 years. 2001 and 2013.

for a team like Barca Cl should be always the goal...

The CL is still a goal whether Barca are the favs or not.

The expectation is to beat squads are better than and compete with those are not.

There is no team in Europe right now that look clear and complete.

City probably most likely if all stay fit.

Based on? History doesn't matter, only the present. The present doesn't have us on equal footing compared to the top of Europe.

It's pretty simple.
We should ALWAYS be competitive in CL. Noone is asking us to duplicate RM but for the love of God we can do without the exits and humiliations which have become our trademark of late.

Game ain't over yet but still another match where we are outplayed. Absolutely worst season in terms of displays in 20 years.

A bunch of us wrote "Xavi out" last year. We just delaying what's needed to be done and what needs be done. Bring markez or let Deco coach until the end of season.
