Xavi Hern?ndez: "It's the same film as in Pamplona. We have to defend with the ball and we have to have more patience. It was a 0-2 game... These are our mistakes, we lack experience and we have to be self-critical."Bad explanation, Gavi should have been removed earlier, but Luuk shouldn't.

He needs to have a word with the players who pulled the team back onto edge of area then if idea is to defend with ball.

It is the older players that did that clearly and if it wasnt they should have been the ones vocal in making sure team pushed up and looked for ball.

Got back to same shit of Pique/Busi/Lenglet etc happy for MATS to try and break lines while they sit deep and defer that.

Bad comment about playing with more patience. We had a number of counters that Abde and Dembele dribbled at 3rd gear to try and see if there was any support- there wasn't.

Less patience and more intent when attacking. But of course a turnover and half the older players will break a leg trying to change direction quickly.

Age is hardly the real issue. Nico and Gavi both way too passive all game as well.

Everyone sort of just perform their duties when their turn comes, then go back to idling. Generally just a complete void of responsibility and courage.

It's still an entrenched issue. One player can't make a difference. Anyone trying to bring a bit of spark and ambition is going to look silly when no-one follows their lead. Eventually they'll naturally just fall in line and start idiling contently like the rest, then become part of the problem themselves.

I don't believe Xavi when he says he wants the team to defend with the ball. That's absolutely not the approach we have seen the past few games.

In Mallorca - after 1-0, sat back and time wasted
In Pamplona - Sat back and time wasted after 2-1
In Espanyol - Sat back after 1-0 again

It is clear our instinct on the pitch at least is to sit back and grind out the wins when we gain a lead. Maybe Xavi has not been clear with his instructions but if that was what he said it is not very obvious.

We are waiting for changes from Xavi. Tiki-taka? Good. Vertical? Good. But there is no change. The elders are all on the field again. When we are under pressure, we lose. Everything is the same.
