I guess those of you who say mascherano is better than yaya weren't watching the same game when we played the second leg against Chelski, yaya was a complete life safer he is the reason we are in the final along with inesta he doesn't always start games and when ever people question him about his future at Barcelona he is always quick to say he is committed to the barca cause what a professional never moans about not starting every game but when he does what and impact he makes.

Mascherano has not got the vision or pace that yaya has and for a guy of his size its amazing that he can keep up with someone with the pace of drogba.
Also Cambiasso can at times be a little narrow and one sided as Mascherano can be a little hot headed and stupid yaya stays cool charm and collected under pressure, in his two years a barca he has not been red carded and for a defensive player that's amazing record especially with the kind of season we had last year.

We are very lucky to have a defensive midfielder with the versatility and tackling ability of toure yaya and we all saw something at chelski that we didn't know he had exceptional pace when needed and he showed us something that we already knew he had great strength a passion for his football whether he playing for his country or his club, so come on dont knock the yaya .

I was saying to 14 that he did well with piqué because they both like to attack, but they managed to communicate and understand each other well, and only one attacked at a time. He played well last night. I was saying to 14 that he did well with piqué because they both like to attack, but they managed to communicate and understand each other well, and only one attacked at a time. That worked nice because Bilbao didnt exploit the space at the back. If yaya was anywhere near Man U box I really wont look forward for that counter attack.

I agree...i didnt think he was that superb against chelsea like alot of people billed him to be. Yes it was his first game in that position but while he made some good tackles he also got outpaced at times. However last night he did well. Im not really talking about thm being the best defensive pair in the world, but rather that they communicated well in terms of getting forward. Which is still an important point when its obvious that is going to be our pairing in the CL final.

is wise putting :toure: on CB position last night. In fact I will play him there all the way until CL final, just to make him more familiar with that position.. On the other hand should play on the position just to remember how it feels for CL final. Generaly, I don't think we should search for left full back. I see on that position next year. We just need another good CB for next year!

yaya's brilliant but I still fear playing him central is a mistake when we come up against an attack that has blistering pace. i.e. man utd.
