    11 - Neymar Jr. - v4

Guys, look at Neymar from Conf. Cup 2013 and Neymar from today. Almost as if it were 2 different players. 2 years at Barca helped him better understand the game. Creating space, playing triangles, switching sides. Hopefully, he gets even better ;]

Dunno whether to laugh or cry. Terrible, terrible presser.

Ehh... Now it's time for all the paper stuff. Contract, transfer fee etc. Gotta hope it will go smoothly and we won't have to wait long for the official announcement.

He wouldn't dismiss the renewal offer if he wasn't sure that a bigger, more successful club wants to sign him :)

    Denis Suarez

He reminds me of Mesut Ozil. Lean 180cm, likes to run with the ball, lots of twists and turns, and if there's an opening he exploits it. Thing is, I haven't seen much tiki-taka from him. He seems better suited for a more direct team, like Real Madrid. But if he can make a transition into...

If anybody finds a gif of Kroos's shot saved by ter Stegen, please post it here.

Good luck negotiating with Levy. Barca will not splash more cash than a player is worth (especially when we talk about huge sums of money) and therefore we won't buy anyone really good. We'll end up with a cheap stop-gap option to provide depth a la Walter Samuel.

It takes goalkeepers longer to hit their prime. Just look how long it took Valdes to be consistent and play at a high level.

Honestly, it's better that way. If Valdes were to leave this year, we would spend the money we got for him on Reina. And I bet ter Stegen will show this year that we don't need to buy a guy like Reina, which will save us some money, since ter Stegen's back-up, if it's not Ondoa already, will...

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

Why not Mamadou Sakho? Young, tall, left-footed, strong in the air, can pass. Has contract to 2014 so should be relatively cheap.

Trapp's great. My 3rd choice for Barca's new goalkeeper, after ter Stegen and Oliver Baumann. Baumann's a bit better passer, and seems less injury-prone than Trapp. But both of them don't come close to ter Stegen when it comes to catching crosses, and we need our goalie to be great in the air...

I'm thinking that if nobody wants to pay good money for Valdes, we should let him stay one year and buy ter Stegen so that Victor can groom him. Pinto could be our 3rd keeper, mostly working as a goalie trainer in his last year.

This own goal is hilarious. I'd love to know what went through his mind at that moment. My guess would be that he thought he was farther from the goal. If anyone runs into an interview with him regarding that goal, plz paste it here. Still, I want him in Barcelona.

    1 - Victor Valdes

Wouldn't be so sure. Remember that young players improve with time, consequently gaining value. I'm not sure if having a one-year shorter contract will outweigh the gains in value from improvement. You never know, by next summer another rich club may want to sign ter Stegen too and it may not be...

    Neymar - v2

I wonder what salary has Real offered. Much more than $7M? I hope not.

And it's not like Szczesny is a complete scrub either. I think Arsenal have higher priorities than a new goalkeeper.

A train to FC Barcelona comes only once in a lifetime. MAtS seems like an ambitious guy, so if Barca comes knocking, I'm sure he'll respond. Yes, he's a Gladbacher through and through, but Barcelona offers so much more than Borussia. Money aside, he will have the opportunity to train with the...

If someone hasn't seen ter Stegen in action before, or has seen only little, today is a great opportunity as he is playing against Bayern Munich at 3:30 PM CET (in ~45min), so he'll surely have plenty of work between the sticks. BTW, hello everybody! Nice to meet you!
