What you on about mate? 0 conceded goals, don't you see. Bravo has been a BEAST.

To be fair Bravo had a good world cup and I think some people on here dislike him because he's taking ter stegens place, where as that anger should be directed at Lucho.

You know a player is decent when Heilrj makes a video.

No doubt about that man. He had a good WC. I just find it very disappointing that Ter Stegen is not getting a fair chance here, so far atleast. I also dont believe in having a seperate GK for CL and LL. Should be LL and CL for one GK and Copa for the other, since you can get away with mistakes and being rusty in the Copa, while that wont happen in the Champions League and I would definitely not want MAtS on the bench for most of the season, that would neither help him settle nor help his confidence and Bravo is relatively young in GK years as well so there is no way in hell he would get a chance to overtake him without getting a chance to even showcase himself. Would be better for him to go out on a loan, like Courtois did.

It doesn't matter how good he's been, you just don't bench a GK who conceded 0 goals in 6 matches, and let's not pretend that Bravo is a bad GK and there's nothing good about him, he's done well so far and unlike ter Stegen he can easily communicate with his team mates which is an important asset for a GK

ter Stegen will get his chance. You people are too impatient, 6 games into the season and some of you are already talking about how Barça are ruining his career and that he will never be a starter for us. Or worse, that Lucho doesn't even rate him and didn't want him in the first place and will offload him next summer. Madness

To be fair I think Lucho is doing exactly what any manager would do, he has basically given everyone a clean slate and is rewarding players based on merit and performance. MAtS might have been number 1 but if Bravo keeps doing well then he simply can't be benched.

I agree about the 2 keeper thing, MAtS won't be synced up with his defence vs PSG.

Exactly, you can't just go and bench somebody who has done a good job thus far. It's bad for team morale.

Yeah it would be awful for morale. It would basicaly be telling the players that performances don't matter, I'm the manager and I pick the person I like or the person the fans want etc.

Forget about it. Some people will never understand. They just want Mats to start and fear of losing him without game time. I bet he will not move for this. He just came into a club like barca and is so young, i am sure he will be patient. Maybe lucho is trying to protect Mats from press and fans, it is a new league and big team he will definitely feel the pressure and discomfort and that may be lead into blunders and that will shatter him. While Bravo can take it, he is far more experienced and it matters in gk position. Mats is more talented that bravo but it is not guaranteed that he will be better.

He will get his time, i am sure of it. He is the future of barca. In one season he will be a starter and will stay for 8-10 seasons at least.

You guys don't get it.

Neither of the GKs or any GK for that matter would leak in goals simply because of the defence and how the team has shaped up for this season. You guys are basically saying, 'Well, he is not letting in goals, let him continue forever then'. Well guys..... Bravo, ter Stegen, even Pinto would not let in goals, that's just how it is.

The thing is, IF ter Stegen is to feature in the Champions League this season, then the least he can get is a bit of game time before a CL game, you know, match training and you can easily explain that to a player and I doubt Bravo's morale would take a hit if Lucho said he would give tS a fair chance thus he needed to play a bit before a big game, but that has not happened. Instead Bravo started in a match where he easily could have been 'rested', the GKs 'rotated'.

Just to say it again, I don't believe in seperate keepers for the Champions League and La Liga anyway. It should be one keeper for both of those competitions and one keeper for the Copa del Rey, where two ties and most matches until the Semis are against oppositions where everyone expects us to win very easily so there is less pressure and a bigger leverage for rustyness(i dont know if that's a word or not lulz, anyway..) and perhaps even a mistake.

It's not like that in the Champions League.

I also don't believe in this 'time to settle', 'time to know the league and country' arguments which have been brought up around here, but that's just my opinion.

I don't care if Bravo is our GK in the LL and CL for now as long as a loan for ter Stegen is on the cards since you just don't stall a young GKs development like that, in any country, league, team, anywhere.

Let me break it down.

1. While I do prefer 1 GK for CL and LL and 1 for CDR, it may seem like Bravo will get his starts in LL and tS his starts in UCL, and in that case, it should not be morale damaging to rest a GK for the one who is gonna play in the midweek, just to give him some playing time, so he is not very rusty, in a competition where small mistakes can give you a premature exit from the competition.

2. IF the manager decides to go for one GK for both big competitions and it is the experienced one, then you don't put the inexperienced, new to the club GK on the bench for most of the season, you loan him out somewhere where he'll get regular playing time so he can continue to develop(an appropiate example would be Chelsea loaning out their long-term GK Thibaut Courtois)

And to those who didn't care to read a single sentence and intend to start harping about how I just want to see ter Stegen in goal at any cost and believe Bravo is shit and what not, then read this and the post above first, if you can't care to do that then don't bother replying at all. :iniesta:

Can we talk more on the subject after Tuesday? For all we know, TS could start against PSG, which would mean that Lucho sees him, at least initially, as our Cup Competition Keeper.

 Why does everything have to be in absolutes on here. Most people simply want ter stegen to be given a simple league debut.1 game does not = benched. This week for example we had 3 league games in 7 days, the midweek game would have been exactly like Bravo sitting out in the cl in the previous week. People talking about fairness and morale when MAtS second ever Barca game will probably be at the freaking Parc des Princes against Ibra and Cavani, more than a week since his last game. How the fuck is that fair, and 'easing him in'? In reality its the opposite effect putting under immense pressure after every 2 weeks of no playing time.

.Read my post now. Took some time to reply since the shitty computer of mine went retard. Somehow all the punctuation marks and those money signs and everything changed places by themselves.

How the f is that even possible

Go big or go home bro! :party1:

Anyway, I think the game against Granada was probably one of the better opportunities to give TS his debut, but we have games against Rayo and Eibar coming up, both of which are perfect opportunities for Ter Stegen to start in the league.

All I know is I'd be very pissed if we lost MAtS because of Bravo. MAtS can be our gk for over a decade, and a very good one.
It might be too soon to get worried, but Lucho has already made some strange decisions this season.
