Only competing for the league after getting a 34 year old Lewa for 50mil is not good enough. With players like him and other short term fixes like Azpi and Alonso, he must win the league, or the transfers will be considered a failure.

La Liga is not Farmers League to wrestle with Rennes and Nice for the trophy. Here you wrestle with the biggest club of all. We will be neck and neck with Madrid, and that is all you can reasonably ask. Of course you want to win the title.

Finishing second is still a failure no matter if it was neck and neck race. Our team was already good enough to finish second. Spending huge money on old players can only be worth it if we win titles.

Not a failure when Madrid are better than you and a top 3 team in Europe. Failure would be to finish behind Atletico.

You are just trying to find early excuses if Xavi fails. Anything else but a league title is a failure considering he asked for a 34 year old Lewandowski for 50mil, and got him. If he can't win it this season, then when, when Lewa is 36? What was the point in getting him then, but to win the league.

Despite them being CL winners wouldnt have Real as a top 3 team in Europe.
Bayern, PSG, Liverpool and City would have as better.
That CL win was up there with Chelsea under Di Matteo.

When Xavi loses to Frankfurt you use that as evidence of squad not being good enough.
Koeman was sitting duck as soon as undermined then kept in role he should have been gone in summer.
Barca were not kicked out by just that 3-0 loss... could have beat Benfica at hom to go through still.

Dont agree.
Lets see how season pans out.
Real cant be that poor defensively and have teams GKs fucking up etc again.
Fair play to them on winning it but cant see them being one of top sides this season.
