Inigo strikes me as a guy that won't go to Bilbao if he had the option.

But the most hilarious conspiracy post I read on that forum is Valverde didn't want to leave Bilbao but was forced to sign with us in order to built a bridge between Barca-Bilbao so we can sign all their talents and sell them off eventually to Bilbao.

Since this signing is imminent might as well post this video.

Surprised City aren't making a harder push for him. He would fit Peps system like a glove over there.

He could end up being Valverde's own Mathieu in a good way.

Might not be as tall as Mathieu is (5'11 1/2 vs 6'2) or have the recovery speed as Marlboro had.

However Inigo has some pros.

Age-Inigo is 26 years old while Mathieu was 30 when he joined us and later turned 31 in October that same year.

Technical quality-Inigo is better than Mathieu in that regard.

Injury History-Looking at Inigo's injury history on Transfermarkt the last major injury he had was Mensical Damage but that was way back in April 2012 and he missed 90 days due to that but since then the injuries he had were minor compared to that and due to age as well he will hold up better than Mathieu has during his time here as the frenchman had his fair share of injured and some long term.

My main issue in all of this is the price tbh but to be fair La Real can be flexible compared to their Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao. But however in this case especially for a Key player they will force anyone who is interested to pay his buyout clause which is 32 million euros, and that's pretty steep for a CB who will likely have a rotational role like Mathieu.

We let Bartra walk for 8 mil and we sign this guy for 32 mil. The level of planning of this board is stupefying, 3 steps back one step forward.

I'm wondering do we have a sporting director who is in charge of the overall sporting director of the club, because one minute it's Marlon & mina which sounds smart, invest low & hope for the pay off, then out of nowhere this guy with zero resale value will join us.

He's Bartra level. We sold Bartra for 8m.

Why are we gonna sign a Bartra level player for 32m?

Y'all are overrating Bartra. Inigo is one of the best ball-playing centerbacks in La Liga. And he's only 26, not over 30 like Mathieu was.

Bartra was a damn good ball playing CB as well. And defensively he and Inigo have always been on a similar level.
