Just face it fdj wasn't shit before xavi.

Xavi made him a man and a proper player.

He might as well call him daddy

Nah he was best mid at club under Xavi when played best football in first season, was best player at club after Messi the season before then best player in team last season.

But yes he was top class last season in Xavis system.

What a player!

Indeed that was the point being made by those saying he wasnt performing to level they made out and still got long way to go.

Same folk who now claim he 'had a dip' were the ones arguing how he was so much better than players he clearly wasnt... then or now.

Caught up in end.

The ones consistent with the age argument are those that have been saying it from the start and how naive he looks in some areas and has to improve on.

Pedri and Foden are technically miles ahead of Gavi currently.

Foden would be more like Pedri overall than Gavi even though all three different.

 Foden is a level above Pedri and Gavi. It's so clear... he basically has the best of both, the pass of Pedri and the intensity of Gavi, plus better finishing than both of them combined.

Not above Pedri but above Gavi by far. Both are above Gavi by far.

Stop going over board about his intensity.

Foden better in final third as supporting attacking player than Pedri.. Pedri better when more freedom to get on ball more deeper.

Whether you like it or not a midfielder is only ever as good as his forwards. Our forwards are the weakest part of the team. So naturally when we run 4 mids nobody is going to score and so people like Gavi and even gundogan 99% of the time look like 0 output players. Gundogan made exactly 0 good plays before the assist for Pedri.

Pedri is the teams best player. He is an actual Elite difference maker. FDJ can be made to look good because his literal only role is move the ball up. Which is good and all but he isn't tasked with being the cutting edge like Pedri/Gavi/Gundogan. FDJ is a very good player but I'm simply saying he didn't cut it playing further up the field either in the first place.

Also let's remember players improve at different rates. Xavi and Iniesta weren't as highly rated at these ages. Because back then they were broken in correctly unlike now where we start guys at 16/17 and they learn some bad habits that have to be unlearned to improve upon. (Think Gavi yellow cards and diving)

Absolute nonsense.

FDJ could easily of had double digits assists last season could players finish their chances and was levels above Gavi in chances created and is absolutely used by Xavi to try and break teams down.

It has become a tactic of Xavis to use the FDJ ball in from deep on left and could easily had another assist for it at weekend. Much more than anything likes of Gavi looked like creating.

Gavi cant even dream of creating chances the way FDJ last season and that was from a deep position. The pass v Osasuna was pass of the season and he had many more than that.

The delusion of people comparing Gavi to the likes of Foden !!!
He's not a Musiala or Belingham let alone Foden ..

At best he'll have a Gatuso like career , at the very fucking best
