Bar?a have accelerated the negotiation with Atletico Madrid for Griezmann-Saul swap after the agreement reached with Messi. Griezmann will get ?13m/season (net) and Saul will get ?12m/year(gross) at Bar?a. Everything is closed per
@esport3

Maybe we can make up the financial difference between Saul and Griezmann with the signing of a youth player. German Valera for example.

People here were claimin that Griezmann is a pure shit and now everyone went into a panic mode.

No. We're giving up one of our main goal scorers for a guy that hasn't played that well in the past 2 years. Griezmann isn't great, but he at least can net you 15 to 20 goals a season. And we're just doing a straight swap for a guy that's only worth 40m euros.

It's an awful deal just to save a few million.

Please, Griezmann's numbers weren't impressive in any way for Barcelona. The problem is he was great at Atletico before, so if he clicks with them again, they could be big favorites to win the title again.

We're not losing much, maybe even gaining a bit from Saul + Depay / Griezmann, but Atletico is gaining even more.

On the other hand he never won anything with Atletico and Simeone changing his system again to suit Griezmann could cause some problems

It's more than a few million. It gives us a chance to sign Messi. We already signed Depay to replace Griezmann who was never a good fit.

This is legit crazy.

We pay 120m for a player and after two years we give our 120m purchase back to the club we paid the money to for a player whose value never would have exceeded 50-60m Euros in during his BEST days.

No wonder this club is doomed lol.

Griezmann earns 30m+ gross per year at Barca.

Saul will earn around 12m gross per year according to these reports.

We're going to save a lot of money on the salary alone.

He'll fit in their system much better than he does in ours, so he'll be a much better player in Atletico. He and Messi never worked that well together. It wouldn't surprise me if Griezmann bangs in 25 to 30 goals next season.

Whereas, Saul doesn't really add much to our team. He's not going to start over Pedri or de Jong.... I even doubt he'll start over Busquets.

It should a good deal for us. I think Griezmann is world-class, but the salary to performance ratio isn't there and he was never the right fit with a Barca that contains Messi, to begin with.

In a crucial time for our wage structure, Griezmann was always going to be an obvious candidate for the chopping block.

Unfortunately, given his age and the financial situation with clubs, recouping anything major from the fee we paid was very unlikely.

And tbh Atletico winning again while we rebuild is not the end of the world .

It's all about getting to the summer of 2022 with fans back in the stadium, some of revenue streams returning and being in the position to truly strengthen our team from then.

But is it worse than Eto'o + Money for Ibrahimovic then selling Ibrahimovic a year later?

Who is "we"? That idiot is gone. Do you think our new board would have payed 120 mil for him? Just forget about that money, it's long gone. We are forced to clean our house and Laporta is doing his best.

Do you honestly think that Coutinho or Dembele will end up differently?
