Antoine Griezmann

Don't know what Messi was told or promised, but seeing people being so mad about him staying makes him staying even much sweeter :coffee:

It makes it comical , he threw a tantrum last year because there was no sporting project and that was his reason of wanting to leave. I'm just wondering where the sporting project is now that he actually wants to stay.

Not really all that telling.

He wants to go back to Ateltico it would seem.

All the more weird considering fans there don't want him back.
Just a rather strange guy. Didn't he interview 2 weeks ago saying he wants to fulfil his contract at Barca and then go MLS?

Feels more like he's been forced out at least a bit.
Or France getting knocked out made him reconsider for whatever reason.

I'd hope it is a case of being mentality checked out of Simeone ball and not mentality checked out of football like Arda.

If we go back and look at Koke a few years ago. He had a similar spell of being off form and below his previous level.

De Paul is someone who can invigorate Simeone midfield while Saul can add to ours. That would be the idea.

I hope you are right. It depends on his personality. Pjanic and Turan both lost it the day they signed with Barca. Motivation that is.

But it's not like Saul comes here and doesn't even try(not that type of person imo). He will try his best. Not worried about that. His today's quality might be problem.

Maybe this is the beginning of the process of that sporting project and thinks that this board has an actual plan unlike the Bartomeu one.

Perhaps he's promised big signings like Haaland and de Ligt next summer, in which case he's willing to be at a team that kinda sucks for one more year.

Who knows what they talked about? Perhaps they pull a rabbit out of the hat this summer, something we don't know about.

The summer is still young.

Whether they do or not they will soon be cheering when he scores goals.

Either way might be a good idea for us to start playing some matches before we assume we are doomed.

Remember last season

We're doomed, we won't finish top 4 -> Worst start in 25 years -> Shit, you have to scroll the table to see where we are -> Okay, we're starting to win -> Oh, wait, we're on a run -> Atletico lost again, maybe we can win this -> We'll be champions if we win our remaining 6 games -> Oh no, we had it, and shat the bed.

They must have a very promising project going on at Disfrutar this season.

Truth be told: Griezmann doesn't improve our first 11. And depth looks way better this season already. It's not an awe-inspiring sporting project, but not terrible either all things considered.

Everything points in that direction  come on, Don...

I mean who knows?

We barely know anything about what's going on in that board room, in negotiations with the players. In negotiations with agents.

The current board don't leak much, if anything at all.

When you swap Griezmann for Saul

We love to give Atletico LaLiga titles haha

Not that I regret Suarez move. It was good for the long-term.

All I know is that Messi at Barca with this squad still have a good chance of winning a domestic double.

If they kept Griezmann over Messi I don't think we have much chances of winning the league unless both Real Madrid and Atletico really bomb it.
