Bringing him on instead of Roberto was stupid. We were already on the backfoot down that flank and subbing in Arda actually made the situation worse. His only contribution in the entire game was taking a shot that was blocked close range.
Just criticizing how bad he is isn't making him a scapegoat. He's obviously not at fault for the loss but he was still pretty damn useless from the moment he came on until the end of the game. And come on, with how often I have to hear about his incredible achievements and boundless experience, hearing him get the same "He was thrown to the wolves" excuse that we'd give for Munir or Bartra doesn't exactly make much of a case for him.
