Bernardo Silva

Hes good but isnt a wide player to be isolated and expect him to create much and to put him on books at 29 at more than it would have taken to get Messi seems over blown.

Could easy be Xavi wants him narrower and one of AMs though and not wider right.

Some players will be moaning about minutes by end of season if that is the case most likely.

Don't know what Messi has to do with anything. He's much older than Bernardo and a non-factor defensively.

Bernardo worked so well because City never stop moving in possession, and play quick specific transitions when on the turnover.

We have not yet showed that kind of ingenuity in possession, while in the transition will hold up possession by and large unless Dembele found space or Balde showed his youthfulness to just attack.

For Xavi, Bernardo won't solve any/all of his problems unless he see's he has to solve himself.

Man that was deep.

Xavi can't solve anything. Our path to titles is the one already exploited to excellent effect last season. Careful in defense to not concede stupid goals, and get the goal (or rarely goals) to win the points.

This needs to be repeated this season, but it's gonna be harder to keep the same consistency after winning the long awaited title last year.

Motivation is gonna take a hit, hopefully a small hit. CL affair was affected by huge bad luck, so this is gonna be improved this year most likely, especially as 1st seed in CL groups.

Nah. Messi is done, made an excelent choice to retire in US.

That was Messi you wanted club to sign when looked like arriving.

Back to being 'done' now you know they couldnt get it done...

Messi is better player than Silva now and would be more important for Barca.

Motivation and moving with times are what coaches are paid to do.

Different set of excuse being put in place already...

CL was down to poor coaching choices as much as any 'luck'. Barca still had team to beat Inter and were favs.

I'd have been ok if he came in good terms for the club. Certainly not desperate for him to come or anything close. Silva is easily better as he's much younger and more of a team player.

Neither is great news.

Nah, Xavi has to build on last season.

Luckily our biggest rival (today) don't have a striker, while they have spent dig on midfield but none of the new signings (Cama, Tchou, and let's see with Bellingham) have settled in midfield, let alone shown they can take over the old men.

But overall our offensive play has been extremely lacking and that's more on Herb than the players imo.

You were arguing it was a good move to bring him back when thought it would happen... now he is back to being 'done'.

Messi is easily better than Silva and wouldnt be on as long a contract either.

'More of a team player'... nah team mates will prefer Messi in there than Silva.

Build on last season in terms of CL performances? In La Liga, last season was incredible. Can't dominate like that again this season. Almost impossible.

I wouldn't worry about RM too much. Replacing Benz is not easy, and ultimately goals decide titles.

Dont you know they have the best GK, best defence, best midfield and best attack going?

Only reason shitty Barca won league is because they were not motivated enough.
