all of the above mention players are 20 or >, done of them are in there teens maybe bartra and we all know that its fontas the 20> that he will promote.

but their is a difference between those guys and bojan, bojan got promoted has a 17 year old, did a brilliant job and it seems in his mind his reward was the bench in order for him to develop "properly", so it will affect his confidence allot more than the rest.

the day pep promotes a 18 year old even if he is clearly good enough i will be shocked out of this world.

you may be right, I dunno. I'm all for restraint when it comes to teenagers anyway. very VERY few are able to deliver consistently at the top level.

anyway: I'm all for making excuses for Boje, I love the kid, but he repeatedly fails to deliver. whatever his problems are, and I'm sure some of them are down to Pep's handling of him, he needs to get over it. he has such astounding talent that all his emo faffing around is just annoying.

if I had to guess, he's a deeply insecure kid who needs a loving arm around his shoulder and constant reassurance. i.e. the kind of shit Rijkaard used to do. any form of criticism sends him into a shame spiral of sorts. his record for the u21's is 4 in 18 ffs.

It's all down to the Messi-False-Nine situation imo. Messi plays 90 minutes week in week out, leaving Bojan without minutes.

Agree. He's not a winger. If Pep wants to play Messi as the false-nine instead of winger, which I have no qualms with, Bojan is rendered useless ESPECIALLY if it's 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there at the end of the game.

That sounded so funny in my head :D

True. That's why Pique decided to take the matter in his own hands to try & man up the kid. He said that before 09 CL final

Kid needs to be sent away on loan or sold with a buyback, coddling days are over - time for him to show his quality or drift into anonymity

4 in 18 is good or bad you mean?

Rijkaard was off the pitch, I am sure Bojan is safe off the pitch. It was people like Ronaldinho and Henry who made him feel comfortable on it. You won't like it when I say this but Messi being around doesn't help the kid, it frightens him. This group of players are not as friendly as the team of 3 years ago, they are ruthless and unforgiving. Surely, very tight but they don't tolerate much.

Messi is a ruthless goal scorer, any opportunity missed upsets him. Xavi is like your strict music teacher. Busquests is badass a butcher. Mascherano is...a gaucho. Pique is his only friend, but he is fucking shakira and obsessed with his boy Cesc. Puyol is obsessed about Pique. Alves is more ruthless than Busquests and Messi combined, and is calling out the spirits in jungle dances with Adriano and Thiago.

You get the point, this team has too much going on, too fast, too ruthless too relentless to wait for Bojan. The kid is talented, but far from the perfectionists your first 14 are and not a single player is as giving as Ronaldinho or Henry nor are they as laid back.

When he plays for Spain, he thinks he needs to create and do so much more, because he is from Barca, because he is part of the CL winning team, he rarely performs. Send him off to Racing Santander, its a rich team with good players and risk him sulking not being part of a winning team with free champagne.

the players are not as joyless a bunch as you make them sound. and while they are professional and ruthless when it comes to chasing wins, they are also extremely giving and generous with the ball. thus off the pitch environment is just as, if not more important, in Bojan's case.

you talk about Henry, but he was as demanding as they come on the field (laid back? seriously?!) but VERY friendly off the pitch. and he quite obviously took an interest in mentoring Bojan given all the pseudoporn there is of them together. he was giving, yes, but you had to be awesome otherwise he'd let you know it.

and you're right that no one is as giving and forgiving as Ronaldinho - no one with that level of talent ever has been or will be again - but he (and Deco) were barely factors on the field in 07/08. however they were a presence off it where their laid back attitude no doubt put Bojan at ease.

then there's Rijkaard, who is much more easy going on the kids (and everyone) than Pep is right now.

our whole mentality has changed. on the pitch AND off it. and this new environment is what has spooked Bojan. confidence plays a massive part in futbol, and sadly Bojan loses his at the drop of a hat. it seems that for all his talent (and boy does he have talent) he's way too emo to make it with the stakes as high as they are.

I hope he proves me wrong.
