the players are not as joyless a bunch as you make them sound. and while they are professional and ruthless when it comes to chasing wins, they are also extremely giving and generous with the ball. thus off the pitch environment is just as, if not more important, in Bojan's case.

you talk about Henry, but he was as demanding as they come on the field (laid back? seriously?!) but VERY friendly off the pitch. and he quite obviously took an interest in mentoring Bojan given all the pseudoporn there is of them together. he was giving, yes, but you had to be awesome otherwise he'd let you know it.

and you're right that no one is as giving and forgiving as Ronaldinho - no one with that level of talent ever has been or will be again - but he (and Deco) were barely factors on the field in 07/08. however they were a presence off it where their laid back attitude no doubt put Bojan at ease.

then there's Rijkaard, who is much more easy going on the kids (and everyone) than Pep is right now.

our whole mentality has changed. on the pitch AND off it. and this new environment is what has spooked Bojan. confidence plays a massive part in futbol, and sadly Bojan loses his at the drop of a hat. it seems that for all his talent (and boy does he have talent) he's way too emo to make it with the stakes as high as they are.

I hope he proves me wrong.

How can you not be joyless when the team cheerleader is Shakira? Or when you are winning 13 out of 16 titles? They enjoy their football, they enjoy winning more. And they are winning. You don't see Messi smiling when he misses, or Bojan misses, or he doesn't get a pass he was supposed to. Xavi never smiles, neither does Iniesta, Pedro does as well as Pique. Abidal is a statue and Valdes is as hot blooded as they get.

I am not saying they are joyless, I am not painting that image, but on or off the pitch, they mean business and the train is going too fast for softies like Bojan. On and off the pitch he lost his mentor. There is a reason why players with less talent made it in this team like Pedro. Pedro is cold blooded, cheeky and sneaky. You throw him in the deep end and he floats. You throw busquets in the deep end, son of a thug, and he floats. Thiago for all his arrogance, is also tough. Bojan isn't and like you said before, he need someone to hug him but the current crop of players are mentally tough, too busy conquerining every thing in their way, breaking records (silly and important ones).

To be honest, I am not sure why all of you are concerned with Bojan, if he doesn't make it, he'd be the last player I'd feel bad for. What makes him special to keep besides he is one of yours?

And with more potential and proved himself ;)

LOL bojan has still plenty of time to prove himself....he would start for any la liga club except barca and madrid and over the last 3 seasons has the higest goal per minute ratio in barca.....i am not saying he is great but he has potential and time to reach it

First of all, that image and caption are not fitting for each other. Second of all, what am I bitter about?

Estranged, I used that stament a bit loosely but Bojan is very talented, he can dribble very well, with a very good shot, and his ball control is quite impressive. Plus his passes aren't bad either. Pedro is better at protecting the ball, and finishing, but in terms of raw talent, I would think Bojan has more there. I didn't say that there is a huge gap.

So it is, pretty much, all emotional.

Disagree. I think Pedro has as much if not more talent/skill than Bojan, Pedro's first touch is second to none,...look at his goal against united and his goal against you guys in camp nou. He's also way better than Bojan in getting himself in better/dangerous positions (reads the game way better than Bojan).
I do agree that it's not all about talent and maybe that's where it went wrong with Bojan. Seeing him a few times this season was really sad, I remember when he came on against Sevilla a few months ago and Sevilla players were just barging and bullying him off the ball, his strength is deffo something he needs to work on too.

Bold: Yeah I reacted to that aswell  Guys that ruin good analyses deserve a facepalm, in their own face from yusuf's giant gorilla hand. I think the answer is somewhere in between yours and meta's opinion.

Underlined:
He was sarcastic? Or, weren't you?

If Bojan doesn't make it, and another youngster does, who cares? Stop becoming personal with the players. If Leo wants to leave, he can leave. The club crest is more important than the name on the back.
Football is not a charity. You have to perform if you want to play.

Bojan's first touch is not lacking, and Pedro has 3 years on him. However, Pedro is tough, standing at 5'6 isn't exactly helping him but he knows how to take a beating, better yet, stay away from it. But yes, Pedro is more foxy, is smarter, which goes back to my first statement that there are players there who are blessed with less but can make more of it. That is why they are in the team, especially that they serve a unique, yet demanding, purpose.

I am not sure if he was sarcastic, but if he was then is hilarious. If he wasn't then it is clear that if he doesn't make it, people will be deeply disappointed because it is 100% emotional talk.

Last sentence, exactly, if Bojan leaves I don't see how it is saddening. There is a plethora of new players coming through, more hungry and mentally stronger.

About the bolded part, LOL! I was going to say we began with off the pitch support (or the lack of) and ended with on AND off the pitch support (or the lack off).

My dear forum friends, it seems to me that after careful analysis on the Bojan situation that the kid...is...a goner!

Beastman, Soldado is 26. he's peaking at the expected time. Bojan is 20. twenty. so there's plenty of time for him to hit puberty, grow a pair, and thus become awesome.

two reasons:

1. he's adorable. like a pathetic little brother. a weedy shortarse with such sad sad eyebrows.
2. in 07/08, when everything else was falling apart (Messi physically) he was the one true ray of hope for Culés. a young homegrown striker with masses of potential. that bought him a tonne of goodwill that won't go away quickly.

and I suppose a 3rd reason would be that Culés want all canteranos to succeed.
